VE on the NA, size?

I will be sailing on the NA in the VE cat. Does anyone know if there certain cabins larger than others in this category?

I have the following info on my site for Nieuw Amsterdam direct link is here: http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Nieuw_Amsterdam/index.html

The standard Verandah/Balcony is 6 feet deep by 9 feet wide. VA aft/stern Verandah/Balcony are deeper (how much depends on which deck, and Vista class versus Signature class). VD are 7.5 feet deep. VF and VE on Vista Class ships, Noordam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, Verandah deck are only 4.5 feet deep.

As of this time I do not have much information on the Verandah/Balcony sizes of the PS, SA, SB, SC or SY categories Staterooms.

[

All side (not stern/aft) V to VH cabins on the Nieuw Amsterdam are 9 ft wide. The depths are:

[

V - 7 ft

VA, VB, VC - 6 ft

VD - 7.5 ft

VE - 4 ft

VF on deck 5 - 4 ft

VF on deck 4 - 7.5 ft

VH - 7.5 ft

[

The exception to the Verandah sizes above are on the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam Staterooms VD 4166 & VD 4168 which have 18 ft wide verandahs (due to an inside stairway between the 2 staterooms.)

Hope this helps

Great help, thanks! 4166 and 4168, arent the lifeboats on this deck?

Yes but not at that end of the ship, only in the center between the "hump" cabins 4134 and 4052. (see Holland America website deck plans for clarification)

Lifeboats would have no visual impact on the cabins mentioned. The VE's on Deck five sit right over the lifeboats/tenders which is bothersome to some.

Sorry, catl331 beat me to the punch.

the cabins themselves are pretty small...with 2 hald size closets and a pretty compact bathroom with no space on the counter... they are like 185 sq ft and have the porblem of you cant open the cabin door and a closet door ro bathroom door at the same time.... Tunnel cabins with a 1/4 size "love seat"....
