On the Ecstasy on our late April/early May cruise, a lady won ~$2,500 by hitting a royal flush on a progressive video poker game. She did it TWICE during the five-day cruise!

On land (no, you didn't ask, but...) we saw a lady win $10,000 last Sunday on a Lucky Duck $1 slot machine. :)

A gal on our Carnival Pride cruise earlier this month hit for $5000, on a .02 cent slot machine. That machine was pretty busy the rest of the week. Last year another woman our the Pride hit for something like $8000 at a gaming table, one of the poker games I believe.

On our 2010 Dream cruise, my mom won $2,600 playing the penny machine. She had a dollar on her, put it in and bet the whole dollar and hit. And this was after my fiancé played $60 on that same machine and didn't even get a penny!

On the last sea day of our cruise, I won $1,500 playing the Cash Craze pull tabs!! Very exciting :) That paid the deposit for our cruise last month ;)

Wonder what the cash was if she didn't take the BMW?

The cash prize is $25,000.

In 2008 on 3 different ships I won $1000, $2000 and $2500....those wins paid for our cruises in 2009 and part of 2010.

On a cruise last year someone won a BMW and elected to take the car. I doubt they have a BMW stached out down in the cargo hold. Same with the mega jackpots, I would expect payment would be in some sort of check. Even in most land based casino's winnings over a certain abount are paid in cash.

On our last cruise, I had great luck. Every night I would take $1 in quarters to the casino. I won every time. $25 first slot and so on. I also played roulette. I won enough on that cruise to pay for all of our excursions, plus a burbon tasting one night for my husband, and I had money left over. It was a lot of fun expecially since I am not a big gambler. My husband on the other hand is a "Cooler". He can't win to save his life. Plus people will lose if he is around them. :D

A few years ago, 9 other cruisers and I managed to take around a combined $7,500 off the craps table in one evening. I walked out about $600 ahead just playing $5 on the pass line with odds. The MDR was not the only place serving up hot rolls that evening. :D

You're married to my husband, aren't you? :D

I will have to say, though, that when I took him on the Legend in December, he brought me some luck on the last sea day. He told me some guy had won on a particular $1 slot, so we sat down at it and he had me bet the max ($3). Couple of spins later, I hit $1,080! That paid our entire S&S bill for the week (including my gambling). :D

I think it was on our 2002 or 2003 cruise a friend of ours hit the $1 slots for 16,000 on the first night after the welcome aboard show, the casino manager paid some but told him they did not have enough cash yet and would pay more as the week went on, needless to say he got about 1/2 in cash the rest in a check.

Twice.

A couple of years ago, one of the other people in our group won $4,000 on video poker.

In May/June of this month, on the Insperation, a gentleman hit the jackpot on slots and had his choice of a BMW or $25,000. He took the BMW. They give you some kind of a voucher.
