I won at the key game a few years ago on the Dream. I brought it right to Gueat Services to have them add it to my S&S. They unwrapped it and put it through the $ counter and it was short!

Did the casino make you whole?

In Nov 2000, my H & I were on our honeymoon (the Inspiration) and a woman and her sister were frequent Carnival cruisers. They were our tablemates. They were a hoot. Anyway, one of them was a big slot player, and on our sailing she won $7,500. She said she averaged about $20k a year on the ships.

She conveniently left out how much she donates to generate those numbers (over the long run ) ! ;)

It is funny you say that. We have two good friends who like to gamble as much as us. To hear them tell it they never have a losing trip. The double deck at the Beau Rivage is like an ATM. The slot machine just keep paying and paying. Of course we have all met people that just can't admit that you lose most of the time and we all gamble for the thrill and entertainment with the outside hope that you might leave a winner.

Used to make weekend trips to the Beau a couple times a year when we lived in Tallahassee (pre-'06). Not sure if I ever won there. Guess I should have played the double deck !! :D

Many years ago on a company incentive cruise, hubby won $4,000.00 and just this past February our son won $3,000.00. Needless to say the both of them paid off the cruise and I got a diamond ring.

It was only a few bucks so Guest Services covered it since the cash was wrapped in plastic and it was obvious we didn't open it :)

On one of our cruises aboard the NCL Breakaway, I kept winning every night. It was to the point that friends we'd made would point at a machine and say, "try this one." And sure enough, more often than not, I'd win a couple to a few hundred bucks.

I won enough over the duration the cruise to pay for all of our onboard expenses in cash, as well as the cost of the cruise itself, plus enough to pay for our next cruise on the same ship.

Couldn't tell you the gran total since I'd won piecemeal.

  • 3 weeks later...
It was for one of the side bets at Blackjack. Lucky Ladies, or whatever they are calling it. It wasn't a win on actual Blackjack play. (As a matter of fact its a loss on the hand, cuz it only pays that much if you get the right first two cards AND the dealer pulls a BJ.)

I had emailed the casino host about the Lucky Ladies bet (to find out the payout and limits), but never heard back. So, I took this image on the Sunshine a few days ago:

First night on Splendor I put in $1 at a penny slot machine (first pull) and the whole board covered with wilds! Won $1,000. Loved playing with "their" money the whole cruise, and walking off with a few hundred at the end.

Care to elaborate?

While I was on the ship I was in the casino, and the gentleman next to me, I believe was playing the max won the car that they were giving away, and then on the same cruise on that same machine a few days later somebody won a big jackpot, I guess you have to be at the right place at the right time,

Thanks. I was trying to figure out how they got the car into the casino. You said:

I actually seen a man with a car next to me

In January on the Breeze, a friend of ours won $22,500 on penny slots the first night of the cruise. Put $20.00 in the machine and was down to his last $1.50 and hit big... The rest of the cruise he played like a madman along with his wife.. Took home over $30,000 in cash... Yes cash, gave him a check for $9,000 and the rest was in cold hard cash... He had quite the time explaining all of the cash to the Homeland Security Agents upon disembarking. Never seen anything like it in my life..
