bojangleshatdance Posted August 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2011 I am reading into this, are you speaking of St. John, USVI? If so you will need to take the ferry from St. Thomas to St. John and then will need to take a "taxi" safari bus or rent a car. You cannot walk the distance, too far on very steep and windy roads. Not sure of the schedule to get back from there. The last time we were there we rented a car for the week. You might want to check on the port boards to get more information. Not sure if this helps. mapsmith Posted August 1, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2011 Yep, Trunk Bay is on St. John's, USVI. Your stop is in St. John, Antigua. Different Islands. Same name. Time to adjust your plans.

louva Posted August 1, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted August 1, 2011 Yeah ... I though that we couldn't walk it. But was wondering if we could. I knew we would have to take a ferry there.

I believe it's the opposite in that the island of St. John (no 's) is in the USVI, while St. John's is the capital city of Antigua. It can be an important distinction as people often mistake one for the other. beachchick
trish1c Posted August 2, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Yeah ... I though that we couldn't walk it. But was wondering if we could. I knew we would have to take a ferry there. Do you understand that we're telling you that not only can't you walk it but you have to go to a different country / island than the one where your ship will dock? Going from St. Thomas USVI to St. Johns for a day trip / excursion is possible. Going from the city of St. Johns in Antigua to the country / island of of St. John's USVI is an invitation to miss your ship. Are you really sure you want to do this? beachchick Posted August 3, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Is there even a ferry that goes from Antigua to St. John? It's close to 250 miles between the two islands. That would be an all day ride just one way. I can't imagine it. beachchick
