Thanks so much!! So from da parish!! A lot of people on this cruise was from da parish. The CD asked a group of ppl where they were from at the welcome aboard party and they said da parish and the CD was like ok so where are you from did your brain have a fart or something. He didn't understand da parish thing. It was hilarious!! Mardi Gras is a great time to cruise!!

The Mardi Gras cruise for me was on Sensation in 2005. Went with my best friend & her family. When they asked where we were from & we said from da parish, we got a lot of funny looks until another big group from da parish heard us & cheered in support. You should have seen all of us cheering as we pasted the Chalmette/ Algiers ferry. It was a sight to see. Everyone from everywhere outside of NOLA looking @ us like we were crazy. I miss Chalmette very much & visit often as I can. I now live I Lafayette b/c of Katrina.

Key West was probably my favorite port on my Triumph cruise b/c it reminded me in someways of New Orleans. Loved Nassau & Freeport was ok. Was looking to go on another cruise leaving out of NOLA this year but I could not find any cruises for Carnival that I wanted go on leaving from there for my approved vacation dates so I am going on Conquest out of Galveston. Will return to cruise out of NOLA whenever I get the chance.

Yes it was Victor!! We only saw him once in 7 days, that was the first night!!

We were on a four day cruise to Cozumel. We talked to him every night at dinner and every morning up in the lido restaurant for breakfast. I hope he is on there in December.:D

That's funny!! The crowds were chearing when they were saying da parish and everyone yelling!! We had a house in poydras and it got tore down because the neighbor kept wanting our property and knew someone on the board and we got a letter on a friday and the next monday it was tore down. I love it down there. Nothing like da parish!!

I agree Key West is our favorite port!! It did remind us of New Orleans except a very cleaner version!! Wish our city looked like Key West. We didn't really care that much for the Bahamas!! We are looking into going to Galveston to cruise on the Magic when she gets there:)

Ok.....So for some reason this was suppose to be with the pictures I posted earlier. I guess I deleted it somehow and just realized my story was being left out!!! UGH....Sorry.

After we left there the BF and Randy went and rented scooters. While they were gone the rest of us went to Kermit's Key West Key Lime Shoppe!! It was so good!! Best Key Lime Pie ever!!!!! So BF came and picked me up on the scooter and Randy was following kinda he was way behind BF, we thought he was going to loose control he kept swerving. I then hopped on and off we went to explore Key West on our own. Took a lot of photos around the town. Rode down Duval Street

Went to the Southernmost Point, it was kinda crowded. So this drunk guy was like you know this really isn't the southernmost point. There was a little block of concrete or something and so he decides to walk out there and stand on the "most southern point as he called it" It was hilarious!! We all knew he was going to fall off this thing. Ok so he made it!!

We decided to get back on the scooter and ride some more. We found a Dairy Queen and stoped and got ice cream!! We then rode back down Duval Street and decided to get a piece of pizza from Paradise Pizza (its good) We then started talking to the owner and he just opened the store up about a week ago. He was from New York and knew his pizza. The delivery guy was coming back from making a delivery then KWPD stopped him on the scooter he rides to deliver pizza in front of the store. The cops gave him a ticket for running a stop sign. A little advise, don't run a stop sign in Key West the fine was like $500. After that we rode a little bit more and decided to take the scooter back as it was getting close to the time to be back on the ship (very sad) I hated to leave Key West.....

As we were about to board the ship the BF boss has made it back to the ship before we did and was out on the balcony and he was yelling at us and then decided to call us and we look up and he is on the balcony. Our room was a few cabins down from his!! He loves to get back early to people watch!!

Great review so far.I believe there can never be enough pics.

A few thoughts crossed my mind.I probably shouldn't say them,but I will.

You smuggled alcohol, you boarded the ship out of turn, you showed up late for the muster drill, and you cut the line getting off the ship in Key West. So, is there chair hogging in the future?

Like I said,I am enjoyng the review.

I looking into going on Magic next year w/ my sister. One of her co workers went on the Magic on it for the 1st cruise & said it was wonderful.

Yes, there is no place like Da Parish. It is so funny when I come across someone here from Da Parish & we start talking b/c of how we say things. Everybody looks @ us like we are crazy. I'm not originally from there but my friends have made me an honorary yat. lol

Noticed on one of your posts about your grandfather being in the hospital. He is in my prayers.

Keeping you

Thanks so much!! I wish we would have got the chance to experience the earlier ships! We have heard nothing but good about them. How would you rate your experience on one of Carnival's original ship to the ships today? Both the good and bad!! I would love to see pictures if you have any!!

Thanks so much. We never did a Halloween cruise so this is the first for us but I know we are going to have fun!! I agree any ship leaving from NOLA is wonderful!! I would hate to know I had to travel hours to get to a port. We are debating when to go on the Conquest!! We should try to plan it together since we are both locals and have cruising friends so close!!

Thanks. I agree there can never be to many pictures!! I took over 1,000:) No, I won't post them all!!!

I did smuggle alcohol only because we don't like having to walk to the nearest bar to get one when we want to relax on our balcony. We did order through room service and they were watered down and tasted bad:( So we do bring our own and we still spend a lot on alcohol anyway. We do usually wait to board but we had a lot of friends going on this cruise so we wanted to hurry up and get on. I know I am horrible but only for this cruise!! I hate standing in the back during muster drill. With that being said after your hear it once and nothing changes what is the big deal with getting there early and having to stand up and be packed like sardines in a can for 20 minutes!! Cutting the line to get off the ship was our friends idea. I did agree to it and I felt so horrible but once I got off the ship I was like oh yeah, were one of first to get off and let my day begin!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE KEY WEST!! As far as Chair Hogging........ I don't see the point in that. I don't like to be around the noisy people and kids splashing in the pool and the parents not controlling there kids running around on the lido deck. I prefer to be on the deck above the lido aft looking at the wake... so peaceful and quiet!! I am usually doing to many activites during the day than to hang out in a lounge chair outside all day:)

So Key West is gone and now its time to get ready for dinner in the MDR. After dinner we decided to do Karoke again in the Venezia. We went to the Seaside Theater and watched Iron Man 2 for a little while then we decided to call it a night since we would be in Freeport at 8:00 in the morning!! We got back to the cabin and found this little creature!!

We didn't have any excursions planned for us today and decided we would all go have breakfast up on the lido deck. The food was good as always. We decided to get off the ship about 10:15. We were just going to Port Lucaya and have a beach day and shop a little. We waited and waited for a taxi for about 50 minutes(this is the worst port for a taxi IMO). Make sure you put your seatbelt on these people drive crazy!! So we finally got to Port Lucaya which took about 15 minutes. I think we paid $10 for the taxi there and back. When we got there we went to go have drinks at this little restaurant. Can't remember the name of it but its across the street from the Treasure Bay Casino. There drinks were delicious and strong. Two of the other people were hungry and they ordered food and said it was good. We didn't eat there just had drinks.

These were the best drinks on this cruise!! There was tons of alcohol in it but you couldn't taste it and two of them would have you feeling really good....
