Latisse progress at 3 weeks (with pix)

I know some of you are interested in Latisse. I decided to try it. I think I can see progress already, and it's only been 20 days! (My doc said it would take 16 WEEKS!)

Please excuse the ick. I guess I didn't get all the mascara off for the first photo, and I didn't get all the morning ick off either. (Too late to redo since I have mascara on now.) I have to use a thick eye drop at night, and it leaves behind ooginess. Sorry.

I think I'm liking Latisse!

My eyes are blue. My eye surgeon and my best friend's surgeon (lasik) both said that the color changing thing is nothing to worry about. One of them said that they just haven't seen it with Latisse, and there have only ever been five or six cases with the Lumigan drops (for glaucoma) that are put directly into the eye. My surgeon said she'd just read a study about Latisse that said in over two million prescriptions, they've not seen one case of eye color changing. (Neither of them sells Latisse so I trusted their advice.) Your doctor may have a different opinion though!

It is drying (and my eyes were already dry from the lasik), and my eyelids are a little reddened and itchy, but those are the only side effects I've seen. And the dryness seems to be decreasing.

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. ;) I just merely want to share my experience for those who are curious.

I don't know where they got the numbers for Lumigan, because many, many more people than five or six have experienced eye color changes from Lumigan drops. My opthamologist is a glacuoma specialist, and estimates Lugmigan drops have changed eye color in at least 50% of his patients. The risk of color change for Lumigan users has been estimated at between 1 to 15% in one study, but this number varies by different sources. In any case, color change is not limited to only five or six cases!

My eyes definately changed color after using Lumigan and it was very, very noticable. Now I put it in both eyes, so they are again almost the same color, but before that, total strangers would ask me about my eyes.

I would assume the numbers would be lower for Latisse, as you don't put it directly into your eye; I am also assuming the concentration of Bimatropost is lower in Latisse then in Lumigan or other glaucoma medication. It usually takes six months to a year for this effect, as well as eyelid skin darkening to show up.

My experience with Lumigan, and now the other drops I currently use, which has this same ingredient, is that my eyelashes are definately thicker, but honestly, it really doesn't make much of a difference in the overall look; I still have to wear mascara. I personally would not use Latisse just to get temporary thicker lashes, but we all make our own choices.

That is very interesting. I specifically asked both doctors about the color change thing because I was concerned about it, and both doctors negated my concern. I also asked my kids' doctor a year or so ago, and he also said it was perfectly safe.

The one who said 'only five or six cases' is NOT my doctor. (Perhaps I'm glad of that!) Although maybe the doctor meant in his own practice? I dunno. Puzzling. I will have to do more digging around. How far into treatment did you notice your eyes start to change color?

Both of my parents have glaucoma, so I've also wondered if it's heading my way in a few years.

I do like how it looks so far, but I haven't decided yet if I'm in it for the long haul. It's expensive. And it does have that drying effect. Still debating, and I am always open to more information.

I started using lattisse 7 weeks ago. I don't have the great results yet that you have gotten but my eye Dr. checked me after a month to make sure there were no side effects and he said all lashes showed growth. I am really stingy with the amount I use, I am still on my first bottle. They said 4-6 weeks and I probably have another weeks worth.

I have had no color change, no burning or itching, So for me this has worked well and I see continued growth. I guess I will be the client who see a big change by week 16 and that is ok.

I have used Lumigan for glaucoma, though not for several years. I absolutely had eye color changes; normal medium green to a dark almost slate green. My doctor just said, your eye color may get darker, your lashes will get longer.

I'm just starting to notice (at least 3, maybe more years since I've stopped the Lumigan) that my eyes seem to have lightened back to their normal green.

My lashes did improve greatly and that has not changed. I still get compliments on how long they are , even just the other day, and I'm 66.

I do have considerable darkness on the inside corner area of the eye, but I've always had that and I cannot tell if it is worse or not.

I think I'll pass for now! I have ALL of the eye diseases in our family, so I would imagine at some point in time I'll HAVE to use one of these medications...but until then, I'll just keep on adding mascara!

Thanks for your post...I'll keep watching for weekly updates!

I am stingy too! It's too expensive to have a heavy hand with, I think.

I did some more reading last night, and if you can believe anything on the internet, I read in many places that the changes happen in green/hazel eyes. Several times I read that blue-eyed people don't have to worry because there is no brown pigment in blue eyes. (That is true for me. I had a doctor once tell me I have 'albino' eyes.) But I couldn't find anything 'official'. The things I read just seemed to be opinions. I don't know why it's so darned hard to find concrete information!

I will post more photos when I can see a change.

I tried to take some pics but they didn't really turn out, but I have lashes growing where I had none. For me it isn't about longer lashes but having lashes at all lol.

My eyes are green and I have had no change. I have follewed up with the eye Dr. and all is well.

It is expensive but so far I have gotten 8 weeks out of my first bottle.

I noticed a huge diffrence because I had very short and thin lashes now they are longer and a little thicker too :) my only negative comment is that if I accidentally do more then a drop per eye it can mess with my eye pressure...make one eye look bigger :o but this goes away after about a day.

Have not used Latisse, but have used Rapid Lash (over the counter) on my eyebrows with good results. Saw KLG on the Today show rave about Rapid Lash for eyebrow growth so I gave it a try. Did not use it on my eyelashes, so can't say if if works or has side effects. But I did not have any problems using it on my eyebrows. Ask you doctor first.

I don't really understand, "make one eye look bigger". Your "eye pressure" has nothing to do with making "one eye look bigger". Are you talking about Latisse? You need to be careful, as it's not supposed to go into your eye.

Me too. I have little baby lashes on the inside towards my nose where I've either never had them or lost them.

I had three major surgeries in two years, and I've lost A LOT of hair. (Dermatologist says probably due to anesthesia reaction and stress.) So my eyelashes have become thinner to non-existent. My brows have also gotten thinner (not a bad thing, IMO). But I do miss my thick hair. The derm says it's growing back, but it can't do it fast enough for me!

Mine have gotten so long, thick and curly that when I sleep - on my right side usually, the right eye has the lashes pointing to the left :p I guess from having my eye squished in my pillow. I have to do some fancy application of mascara to get them to go straight. I put the mascara on and when it's almost dry, take a small pin - I know - not smart - but I separate the lashes and point them in the right direction. I've been using this for about 8 weeks and can't believe the growth! It's crazy. People I don't know are stopping and asking me about them and I even qet the "are those real" question. I love my new lashes. Oh, and I should say that I've not experienced any of the side effects that previous posters have mentioned thanks goodness.

I've been very spotty at using it. I bet I average three or four times a week. It makes my eyes very dry, and I had lasik so I can't use it every day. But it has made my lashes noticably longer. Not thicker so much. The outside lashes have grown much longer than the inner lashes. I lost most of my inner lashes though, and maybe the not-every-day application has effected that. Still, I'm very happy with it. I actually have lashes now!
