Baltic cruises 2012?

Too late in the year -- by then the ships are headed to the Mediterranean or elsewhere -- best to go in mid-summer!

Agree with this above posting and other comments about mid-summer being best. Here are some specifics below on the weather during the "season" in the Baltics.

We were there in late July and early August with things working perfectly. We did Copenhagen and the Norway coast/fjords in July last year.

Below are just six visual "samples" on why the Baltics are so super wonderful, especially St. Petersburg where a private tour can improve your experiences there.

Specific weather history for each port on the dates you be visiting there can be obtained by going to this below website, plugging in the location name and then going to the lower area for an earlier date to what happened there last year on that date, past averages, etc. Check out:

To provide some added details, here are a few weather averages for three of key cities in the Baltics.

Copenhagen: High/low averages,

May: 59/45 °F

June: 67/52 °F

July: 69/55 °F

August: 69/54 °F

September: 62/50 °F

St. Petersburg:

May: 59/42 °F

June: 67/52 °F

July: 71/56 °F

August: 66/54 °F

Stockholm:

May: 60/43 °F

June: 69/52 °F

July: 71/56 °F

August: 69/55 °F

September: 59/48 °F

Copenhagen’s Nyhavn or “New” Harbor is actually old and charming with lots of outdoor dining options and nearby shopping:

We are looking to do Baltics/Northern Europe in September 2012, I can't seem to find any offered. Is this something Celebrity has gone away from? Or will they be adding more soon?

Hi,

Whilst Celebrity do not offer Baltic cruises others do. RCCl, NCL & HAL to name a few do but this is no consolation if you want to sail Celebrity!

Thanks for the responses! Love the pictures!! Will have to look at a summer cruise.

Appreciate the nice comments on the pictures. There are lots of good options from different cruise lines on your potentials for the Baltics. Keep researching and planning.
