jweiner Posted August 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2011 We are arriving in Orlando (from Milwaukee) late Saturday and will take a shuttle toward Cape Canaveral that afternoon. We probably won't arrive in cape Canaveral until 9pm or so. Here is my question, I know we will probably be tired and just go to sleep when we make it to the hotel, but would it be a better decision to stay in Cape Canaveral (Residence Inn) or Cocoa Beach (Courtyard)? I am asking this given that we will probably have 2-4 hours to use on Sunday morning before we head to the port and would hate to be "stuck" in Cape Canaveral if there would be something nicer to do in Cocoa Beach for those few hours (we are a family of 5 and we won't have a car). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

jweiner Posted August 19, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted August 19, 2011 But what I am wondering is if there is something worthwhile to do in Cocoa Beach on Sunday morning that would make it more worthwhile to stay there versus Cape Canaveral. Unless you like to walk around in Ron Jon's store, there is not a whole lot to do in Cocoa Beach on a Sunday morning..I would stay wherever you get the cheapest hotel.. Well, Ron Jon's is open 24/7. If you've never been there before, it's fairly interesting
cruisegirl1 Posted August 21, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 21, 2011 We stayed at the Courtyard ( Cocoa Beach) a few cruises ago. It is a nice property. I prefer Cocoa Beach to the Cape Canaveral area. At the Courtyard, you will be a block from the beach and (I think) walking distance to a variety of stores. Enjoy M

A.S. Posted August 21, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 21, 2011 I have read about a shuttle that takes you to Ron Jon's from the cruise ship port. There was no charge for this, but can't seem to find out if it is still running. Does anyone know? Thanks for any info.
