And if so can you tell me what brands they have?? My grandmother in law wants us to buy a few cartons for my mother in law and aunt. Also how can i get a bottle of Liquor to be waiting in my room when we get on the ship?? I would love to have a bottle of southern comfort waiting for my hubby when we walk in. Thanks!! firefly333 Posted August 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2011 I think fiver cartons is the better deal for $109 approx, though prices may vary up and down a few bucks. Brings the price down to $21 per carton. Just break up the 5th carton in your luggage if you are afraid it will be searched for the extra carton. Actually it is only 1 carton per person duty free. Anything over that you will have to pay the duty and taxes. For example, a returning resident is eligible for the $400 exemption, which includes not more than 200 cigarettes and 100 cigars. If the resident declares 400 previously exported cigarettes, the resident would be permitted 200 cigarettes, tax-free under the exemption and the remaining 200 previously exported cigarettes would be confiscated. If the resident declares 400 cigarettes, of which 200 are previously exported and 200 not previously exported, the resident would be permitted to import the 200 previously exported cigarettes tax free under the exemption and the resident would be charged duty and tax on the remaining 200 not previously exported cigarettes. I can't say I remember Camel but some have mentioned them. There is Not a lot of variety as in lights, 100's, etc.

sarge98 Posted August 25, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 25, 2011 Unless things have changed since Feb 2010, if you buy the cigs in St Thomas VI, you can bring back 5 cartons legally. Not sure about other places in the Virgin Islands, only St Thomas. Ger & save receipts in case anyone asks for them although I doubt it.

You're right~ here's another list that does have SC on it. http://www.zydecocruiser.com/menus/bv_liquor.htm and yes I believe you do have to pay tax. Not 100% sure though~I've never ordered from BV. SNJCruisers Posted August 25, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 25, 2011 They charge taxes on Bon Voyage? Just like you are charged tax on any purchase made on the ship while it is docked in the embarkation port before the ship hits international waters. This includes all drinks bought at the bar and the soda cards.

LSM1018 Posted October 10, 2011 #20 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Our last cruise was on Princess. They would gladly sell you cigarettes, but they kept them until the last night of the cruise, like they do liquor. Can I buy and take the cigarettes with me? Thanks!
