baobaocruise Posted August 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2011 Hi, I am planning our first cruise. The agent got me great deal for ocean view room. But it is on deck 2. I just checked the deck plan - the dinning room is right above us. Will it be noisy if we are right under the dining room? Thanks, Baobao
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2011 Not unless they drop a whole tray full of dishes, and I would hope you wouldn't be in bed at that time! The dining room is carpeted, so you shouldn't have any noise issues. Galley can be a different matter. EM
serene56 Posted August 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2011 Dining room is carpeted so no noise issues IF you are directly below that area. But look at the deck plans and see exactly what is above you-- if its a service station-- you could get noise early in the morning.

baobaocruise Posted August 27, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted August 27, 2011 How do I know where's the serive station? The deck plan didn't say it. BTW, we are at the rear of the ship. Thanks,
98Charlie Posted August 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2011 Here is a web site that has interactive deck plans. You click on the cruise line then ship. Scroll all the way to the bottom and on the left hand side you will be able to click on "Drag Decks". I usually line up stairwells or elevators to get the best idea of what is located above/below. baobaocruise Posted August 28, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted August 28, 2011 RCI, Mariner of the Sea. Charlie, thanks for the link. I got the deck plan but it didn't say where is the service station of the Rhaspody dinning room.
firefly333 Posted August 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2011 I would not be concerned unless you are below the kitchen/galley. cruisedeckplans.com has deck plans you can overlay on each other.
