Transatlantic weather

Let me answer your question with a question. Take the same time of year as your cruise and tell me what the weather will be in IL. There is never a guarantee about the weather at sea. We have done many crossings (more then 10 in the past 6 years) and have had great weather, average weather, and, on two cruises, awful weather. We have had temperatures above normal and below normal...rough seas and glassy seas. On a crossing in July 2010 on the Queen Mary we had fog for 4 straight days (out of 6) where we could not even see the sea. You just never know. That being said, we love crossings (already have two planned for 2012) because of the days at sea. By the way, cruising out of Venice is one of the real highlights of cruising. It is not everyday you get to look down on St Marks Square :)

As mentioned the weather can vary and no one can predict for sure what it will be like.

In general, the weather on your route will be nicer with far less rough seas than a more northern crossing.

Try to book a cabin mid ship if possible.

You can get storms in the Atlantic at any timeof the year.

You do not mention when your cruise would be, so you could hit hurricans when approaching FLL upto the end of November.

Don't worry, today cruise ships are stabile, so just sit back and enjoy your cruise.
