KillaFee Posted September 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Hi Everyone, I've never sailed NCL....I'm usually a Royal Caribbean fan, however I was just looking at prices for Bermuda 7 day in May and not only are they 7 days instead of Royals 5, but they are less expensive, so I think I'm going to give NCL a try. The Star and Dawn look like twins. Are they? Do you think one is better than the other? Any info would help. Thanks! Laura
valleyvillage Posted September 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2011 ...the main difference is that currently Star has the Tex Mex and Dawn has Moderno, same location. They are both wonderful ships!

Laura The Star and the Dawn are basically twins; they are both in the same class of NCL's ships. Star carries 2,348 passengers, comes in at 91,740 tons. Dawn carries 2,224, comes in at 92,250 tons. Of course, there are decor differences and layout differences, but they are basically the same type and size of ship. You'll find people who like one over the other, but just as with any cruise line, the overall NCL experience will be the same on both ships. Try them both and see what you think! dexddd Posted September 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2011 FWIW, the Dawn doesn't have the two yellow slides by the pool. They also have the Bimini grill up a floor or two from the pool deck but the Star has a grill by the pool. On the Dawn that is where they have ice cream (I believe).
