davispigeon Posted September 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Hi, I booked my flight post-cruise REALLY early by accident. Our plane leaves JFK at 10:30am. That means we need to be at the airport no later than 9:30am. I'm hoping we can disembark with the first group (I would anyway since I'm a Carnival vacation club member) so assuming that, what would be the FASTEST way to get to the airport? Thanks! fireboat Posted September 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Car service! Prearrange the car service so they know you need to get to JFK in a timely manner. My buddy lives in Brooklyn and it's the way to go.
davispigeon Posted September 9, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Yeah, I was Yelping for car services and A New Day car service gets great reviews. Used Super Shuttle last year and they sucked. Made us wait forever.

mjkacmom Posted September 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Are you coming from NJ or NY? On our last cruise out of NY, I don't know what was up with customs, but we chose self embarkment, and didn't get out of the terminal until amost 10:45! If you chose this route, grab a guy with a cart, as you will get through customs faster - worth the $.
fireboat Posted September 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2011 I had to reverse google the phone number in my phone. It's Gateway out of Brooklyn. But I also googled brooklyn car service and got a few more. I don't recommend any national chains. The small locals services have to keep you business by good customer service. popanme Posted September 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2011 Prearrange a private towncar service in advance is the only way to go and to get there fast.

What port are you arriving to. I would highly recommend changing your flight. My experience is that you are not going to make this flight and certainly not be at the airport at 9:30 AM. Also, I would not arrive to JFK only one hour before your flight. I would not have booked a flight before 12:00 Noon. Even if everything goes perfectly this is very tight and add to that the fact that the ship can arrive late, or be delayed to being cleared or you can hit heavy traffic and you have a problem. With that said your best bet is a private car service. You ought to post on the cruise line board for your cruise and ask others there experience on recent cruises arriving if this is a recurring cruise for your cruise line. Keith Yeah, I thought about it and went ahead and changed the flight to 1:30pm. Phew. Much easier on my stress level.
