Miami Hotels - feedback please

Flying into FLL and was going to stay there and then shuttle to POM in the morning. Now, I'm thinking I should shuttle to Miami and stay there the night before the cruise. Looking for a very inexpensive place to stay - no frills - just comfy and clean.

I am considering:

Fairfield Inn on NW 11th

Holiday Inn Exp. Miami Springs

Midtown Inn on Biscayne.

Any feedback on THESE hotels?

I would go back and take another look at FLL area hotels with free aiport shuttle service. :(

The Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express are located out near the MIA airport, which will require a $30 cab ride to POM in the morning -- why pay for transportation twice? The Midtown I've never heard of, but the trip advisor reviews would make me think twice (or more!) before booking there.

If you want to stay in downtown Miami pre-cruise focus on the Hyatt, IC, Doubletree, Marriott and Holiday Inn. Some have found great prices on priceline, hotwire and LMT. Good luck! :)
