cruisdog Posted September 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2011 We have a long break from the time we get off the ship until we can catch our flight. We were wondering if anyone has taken the post-cruise tour to Sawgrass Mills that picks you up, hold your luggage, then pick you up to go to the Fort Lauderdale airport. Is it a good deal, anyone have any feedback? Thanks a bunch, Debbie and Robert
OVgirl Posted September 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2011 We were thinking of doing the same thing. Our flight will most likely not be until 7:30pm and FLL airport is not the most passenger friendly terminal. Seems that going to a mall gives you the option to relax if you want and maybe have a late lunch before heading back to the airport. Has anyone used the ship tour? cruisdog Posted September 16, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted September 16, 2011 We have the 7:30 pm flight also and there is really nothing good to eat at the airport. It is terrible when mall food is better.

CRUISING71 Posted September 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2011 I wonder if the private tour company offer the same deal (holding your luggage) as the Ship offers tour?
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted September 17, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2011 Would this be worth posting over on the RCCL board? I too would be interested in the answer to this question.

JayinAZ Posted September 18, 2011 #12 Share Posted September 18, 2011 Although I did not take the ship tour to the mall, I did go there after a RCI cruise. It was much cheaper and you'll have more freedom if you just rent a car at the airport. That's what I did and we kept the car for about 6 hours. What I did not realize was that the mall didn't open till about 11am on Sunday, so plan accordingly. The mall itself was huge with plenty to keep you occupied. Just another option for everyone. Bowie MeMe Posted September 18, 2011 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2011 I agree that a rental car is probably the way to go. Could get 4 or more in the car depending on how much luggage to stuff in the trunk. The drive is pretty easy and takes not anymore than 20 minutes. There are also 2 casinos you could visit, if that is your thing too. I love the airboat rides also which would be easy to do with a car. So shop gamble and National Park. Something for everyone.
