louva Posted October 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2011 Question??? We are doing a excursion till noon. Is it posable to get a taxi to Sapphire Beach and back to the cruise ship in time??? If so How much would it cost and what would be the best way to find a good taxi company??? Any Ideas?
Betsy's Mom Posted October 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2011 Lots of taxis at the dock. About $8 per person each way. The time all depends on what time you sail which you did not indicate. B.
Rare mitsugirly Posted October 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I think we paid $10pp for our ride there and they informed us that taxis came there (where they dropped you off at, which was the Sapphire Condo place) every 15 min...and yep, they were there. No problems. :)
marci22 Posted October 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2011 We also paid $10pp. I did not tip as it was a shuttle-type service.
Garfield111 Posted October 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2012 Hi, Is it true that every cab will fill up people before they will leave for the beach, or if we pay for $10-12 pp, we can go on our own? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply. When we were there, they COMPLETELY jammed the taxi full! It was a van and the amount of people they put on that would be illegal in the US. But the driver explained that people would be getting out along the way and it would make more room, which did happen fairly quickly.
outerbks Posted December 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2012 FYI - It is NOT necessary to wait for a taxi to fill up. If you address the driver or dispatcher on any island and tell them you want transportation and don't want to wait they will accomodate you. Our experience is that it costs us a little more. For example last week we negotiated transportation to Morningstar beach for 4, usually $16 we got for $20. We did add a tip for the convienence which prompted the driver to ask if we wanted transportation back.
