SuiteTraveler Posted October 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2011 My husband and I would like to book a River Cruise on the SS Antionette. We have selected a suite. My questions regarding this: What age passengers might we encounter on a cruise in early May 2012? I would just like to know more about the passenger mix. Does the butler provide room service on these ships if you are in a suite or are you only limited to food in the dining room? Is there a mini-refrigerator in the staterooms? Does Uniworld provide hair dryers in the bathrooms?
SuiteTraveler Posted October 16, 2011 Author #2 Share Posted October 16, 2011 After reading through the posts on this part of the board, I think I've answered most of my questions. Suites have room service breakfast (which I LOVE) as well as daily fruit and cookies. There is a refrigerator and coffee maker. The hair dryers on Uniworld work well. So that only leaves my question about the age mix. I've seen a video where 2 college girls spent the better part of a summer filming on Uniworld - looks to be a wide age mix although most pax seem to be age 40 and up. Rare franski Posted October 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Suite Traveler - DH (57) and I (55) have done 2 river cruises with Uniworld - and we tend to be on the younger end. There have been some passengers in their 30's and 40's --> but they are definitely in the minority.
genmasjoy Posted October 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2011 I think the passenger age range is 50 and up. On our last Uniworld cruise, there was one younger woman in her thirties, but she was a tour escort for a group of seniors from upstate New York. I am 57 and was one of the younger passengers. I enjoyed talking to everyone, they tend to be well traveled and interesting and physically fit since there is a lot of walking on the tours. SuiteTraveler Posted October 18, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted October 18, 2011 We're fine with people who are older than us. Last May we sailed on the Celebrity Eclipse and at 49 and 52 were among the youngest on the ship - we got a lot of special attention because of that from passengers and crew alike. LOL!
