Truimph vibration question

I hope someone that has been on the Truimph lately can help me with this. I am booked in cabin 8437 which is aft in December. I have read several posts about the vibration in the aft and now am wondering is it bad enough that I should relocate on the ship. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Just a quick note .... Triumph was not ready to sail on Oct. 6 and several maintenance items were not complete - however, they sailed anyway...

We were on 8th deck - had 6 balconies and had no TV service until sat. morning...

the entire one side experienced this - also, several plumbing issues that were still being worked on made several cabins flood, although they took care of as soon as possible it was a mess for a while.

Also the credit card processing was not working - so all charges for the 16 of us were on my bill until they sorted it out. the stabilizers were not working and it sailed anyway - made for a little rockier than usual.

Even though we had a good time and Cozumel was beautiful - it was disappointing that Carnival could not complete required maintenance while in dry dock.

We did not experience any vibration noise - only extra rocking ...

The Hollywood Dance club is all new and several tiled areas are replaced but nothing major that we noticed. They were also still glueing down carpet and baseboards were not replaced. Seemed quite unfinished in areas.

Still Enjoyed the staff - dining was excellent - California Wine Bartender was Great - Piano Bar - Super ..... Karaoke was horrible - she can't keep the crowD entertained, they need someone new there.

Production show was Very good - Big Easy still needs some work - but the Wonderful World was fabulous...

will be cruising again in Jan.... looking forward to another experience

When we sailed Triumph back in February, the girl who ran Karaoke was named Magda. She was awesome. She had great personality and kept the crowd entertained. She asked both my wife and I to audition for the Legends show ( I am a musician/singer) so we did. My wife competed against 3 others for the part of Gloria Estefan and won and I competed against 3 others for the part of James Brown. I also won. They put very dark brown makeup on me the night of the show to make me look like James, LOL. It was a GREAT time!

I hope Magda returns soon

OP, on such a high deck, you should be fine. The vibration problem I noticed affected the bottom 2 decks, not higher decks.

russandcheryl, I read about the water problems and the flooding. someone (was that you) got 15% OBC for their cabin being flooded nearly the whole cruise. Im sorry that happened to you.

I was on Triumph when a cabin up and across from me got water on deck 6 and the buffet area overhead the pipes were leaking and they shut down half of the too small buffet area. .. but at least its never been my cabin.

I was hoping they fixed all these issues and Triumph would be ready to go. Sounds like they still could have spent more time with maintenance stuff.

We noticed some heavy vibrations while out eating on the Lido deck. It wasn't bad but noticable at times.

As far as maintenance, they were redoing some of the wood deck on the 9th or 10th deck on a ramp, some kind of leak on 5 at the back of the casino, and a leak or something by the elevators on 7 in the ceiling.

I was in a aft facing OV on Main and the vibration was terrible. Then after swearing never to be aft on this particular ship, I got assigned last inside cabin on riveria. It was so noisy we could hardly hear the tv. This went on all the time. Sounded like banging against the ceiling and back wall, it was that bad.

A little I dont mind. What I am talking about on the two lower decks was over the top.

We sailed on Triumph out of New Orleans October 2010. Were located at front of Upper Deck. Was horrible vibration and loud noises while ship was sailing fast. Not so much while slow. We lay awake several nights. Asked guest services about noise and were given blank look responses. Although the crew were happy to tell us this was norm for this ship. Never again will I stay anywhere on a ship except MIDSHIP!!

hahaha! :p

can't speak to the Triumph, but my experience has been that leaving port you're more likely to feel the vibrations. I always assumed it had something to do with the engines getting underway. we noticed it several times on other conquest class ships that were leaving port while we had early seating dinner. you could feel the rumble even if you couldn't hear it in the MDR.
