gem dining questions x 2 or 2.5

ok I have 2 questions.........

 

1) Could anyone tell me what main dining room is open on sail away day? I enjoy sailing with 2000+ people but don't like dealing with the buffet?

 

2) I read that the gem was opening a new restaurant this year comparable to the moderno but I didn't see it on the web site, but its in the ncl tour book? Is there or isn't there and if so what was it like?

The Grand Pacific is open for lunch; a nice, peaceful way to start your cruise.

 

I was on the 10/16 sailing and didn't hear anything about a new restaurant; may be one by the time you sail.

Just off the Gem today. The new Brazilian-style restaurant has not yet replaced the Tex-Mex eatery.

Nothing like coming back to reality, when reality means the aftermath of a freak October snowstorm...it was a heck of a slap in the face after being in Bermuda!

 

Sorry, but I didn't ask when the new restaurant is scheduled to open.
