Legend 10-23 to 10-30 Cruise during Rina!

I get the weather thing. Safety is first. They could have even gone to Galveston, New Orleans, Mobile, Key West. Insted of floating around for and extra day and a half. Fine, go to progresso. Like I said though. I had to show the desk people an email from a contact at Florida emergency management, anyone could have gotten the same info at nhc.noaa.gov. They told me there was no hurricane and no plans to change anything.

We did the best we could with what we had. I am no carnival basher, but the product has gone down hill quickly. So we will try another cruiseline.

I don't think maybe you realize that they can't just pull into any port at a moments notice. Doesn't work that way. Not sure why you didn't get notified about change. Captain made announcement first day at sea and notices were delivered to cabins. When we got on the ship, Rena had not yet become a hurricane-was only a tropical storm, so at that time no changes had been made. I feel they did the best they could with what they had to work with.

I didnt say the captian didnt know. The staff is who we talk to, and tey dont know anything. They sure as sh*t pulled progresso out real quick. Anything to sell more of their tours, their booze, their casino. We dont drink, wont buy an excursion for double what its worth and im not gambling just because there is nothing to do.

Did you notice the halloween stuff that was added? That was because my wife and I bi*ched and moaned to Wee Jimmy ( Ralph ) and told him what the fine folks at the reservation department had told us, or didnt tell us. One said yes there will be something, one said no, one said i dunno. How is it that so many people can be so poorly informed? So they decided to run some parties.

Now I see the tips are going up? WOW! The only one that deserved the tips from us was Ernesto, our cabin steward. He was awesome. The dining room staff was slower than anything I have ever seen. 25 minute wait after we ordered our apps. I had the COLD thai chicken, one son had ceasar salad, wife and other son had chicken soup. Maybe they had to go kill the chickens? I dunno. I will say this. The your time dining is not for us. Will do regular dining next time.

I am not new to carnival or cruising. Have been on 10 different cruises. 8 with ccl,one on rcl, and way back on the SS Britanis ( 1985 ). Service has dropped like a stone. Welll like I said, we did the best we could with what we had. We did come home with a small fleet of ships on a stick ( 9 ) and 3 of the medals.

Have to agree with you Re Ernesto he was our cabin steward and he was so nice and helpful. We too tipped him very well.

Our experience on anytime dining was okay our first choice was 1st sitting but they couldn't accomodate us and so we made the best of it.

We enjoyed the cruise although I was not thrilled at all with the entertainment staff everyone raves about Wee Jimmy but we only saw him at the show and felt he should have supervised the entertainment staff more.

We received a e mail this morning asking us to fill in a survey I did so and made some suggestions:)

We were also on this cruise. There was no letter in the cabin about any changes. In fact I had to go to guest services and show them an email i get from a contact I have in Florida Emergency Management. Not that anyone couldnt get the same information. They told me there were no changes even being considered. Ok well lets just say that the communication between departments is horrible at best.

This was my 8th Carnival cruise, may be the last. If the customer service and the quality of the entire product does not improve it will for sure be my last with CCL.

I understand and am greatful that the safety of all on the ship is first. We agree that something had to be changed. Just dont send us to progresso ever again. That had to be the worst port EVER! Belize was wonderful as always. The boys at the cave tubing with the dot com at the end were just awesome.

Rented a buggy at the port in Cozumel. Very safe, had no problem there. Went to the ruins, bring plenty of bug spray for there.

Sadly, one of the passengers from our ship got into some kind of accident in Cozumel and did not make it. There were plenty of stories of how it happened. The only thing that seemed to stay the same is she was on a scooter without a helmet.

Anyway, I will post a complete review of this trip from our point of view as most opinions vary.

Tim

Hi, I was just reading your review. My husbands cousin was the one killed on a Moped in Cozumel. She lost control & hit a pole. She was wearing a helment but it did not save her. Our family is very distraught. Kim was a excellent person. Her sister that was with her cannot even think about about anything right now,& she said that she does not know where it happened. I was wondering if anyone happened to know excally where this happend on Cozumel? I cant find anything on the accident & my Husbasnd & I are cruising to Cozumel next year & would love to go to the spot & say a prayer & put a cross if it is allowed. I have googled it & cant find anything. I wanted to ask the question on trip adviser but for some reason I cant enter the post. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Cannot give you any specifics but we rented a Jeep and when we approached

the last turn around, before the trees open up and you see ocean on one side of the road, the police were there with the road closed. Now that I'm hearing the stories, were thinking it was after that point and they didn't want any of us heading down there.

So sorry to hear of your loss, I cannot imagine the pain you are all feeling.

Please find comfort in knowing we are thinking of you during this hard time.

There is never a good time to have a loved one leave us.

Take care

Tami
