fairbourne Posted November 25, 2011 #26 Share Posted November 25, 2011 And tote bag in hand and very handy it was also to carry all the bits and pieces a girl needs to carry around! They were left in the stateroom the first evening. Miss Jet Set Just to let you know our wonderful TA put a beautiful welcome display of flowers in our stateroom, and yesterday a delivery arrived from them with a very nice bottle of fizz to welcome us home. Guess you'd better start relocating LOL! And of course guess who we'll be booking our next cruise with!
billichka Posted November 30, 2011 #27 Share Posted November 30, 2011 We didn't get our goodies from Seabourn prior to our cruise - our (USA based) TA wanted $50 to send them to Australia so we declined...... We printed the travel docs from the Seabourn website and the friendly Seabourn staff hand wrote luggage tags for us on the dock at embarkation. We will certainly be taking another Seabourn cruise - organised by a different TA!
ailmarsh Posted January 18, 2012 #28 Share Posted January 18, 2012 Our US TA posted ours to the UK unasked! We were surprised & delighted by that additional touch. Have booked our next Seabourn cruise with a UK TA as we had paid a future cruise dep. in £. Does anyone of experience of paying fcd in one currency & booking in another? Full of sympathy for all caught up in the Concordia disaster but still believe cruising to be far safer than everyday things like driving ....... The future cruise discount is a 5% discount so It does not matter which currency you are using, it is deducted from the amount that the ta advertises. We booked onboard an open booking and then when we booked in Uk I just told them that we have a fcd. :)

fairbourne Posted January 19, 2012 #31 Share Posted January 19, 2012 My you seem to have a very good TA is this UK based? Yes! She was absolutely brilliant and knowledgeable. There was a long discussion on another thread when I mentioned that she had gone to the trouble of finding out exactly which way our bed would face in the stateroom - she was on a familiarisation visit to a sister ship and had remembered my query and went along to the stateroom to double-check what we had already thought was correct. That started a whole "conversation" and it's amazing as it turns out how important this little fact is to lots of people for all sorts of reasons! They truly treated us like VIP's! Unfortunately I can't tell you who they are on this board. I'd be banned for life! LOL! Not worth it, even for the case of wine I could get if I referred you! LOL! I have to say the DH and me were both very impressed with the service we received as this was the first time we had used a specialist cruise TA. Just to balance up my post I am sure there are lots of TAs in the UK who offer great service and have happy clients like us.:)
LN50 Posted January 19, 2012 #32 Share Posted January 19, 2012 Wow that certainly sounds like service... wish I could access a TA like that, presumably an independant not a multi national. maybe I will meet you onboard sometime and get the low down... Chairsin Posted January 20, 2012 #33 Share Posted January 20, 2012 I also use a UK agent ( can I hint that she is in Bournemouth?)and have only wonderful things to say about the service we have received. When we first switched to this agent we had a fcd in dollars on account. In order to book our first cruise with her she had to have Seabourn refund the deposit and have us make a new deposit in GBP. Not sure if the same thing would apply with euros and pounds.
