Great 2 B at Sea Posted November 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2011 We are thinking of booking either on of these corner rooms on the 10th floor. Anyone ever stay in these rooms and have any knowledge of pros and cons? Can you see around the side of the ship and on the deck plan, this room looks wider than the other balconies, but shorter. Is it smaller and does it have a regular sliding door like other balconies? Thanks!:)
Langley Cruisers Posted November 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2011 Actually surprised these coveted cabins are still available. If I were you, I would put a 24 hour courtesy hold pronto and then decide quickly. Obviously JMHO. :)
MrsPete Posted November 7, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2011 These rooms are the best! They're about the same square footage as a regular cabin . . . but they're shorter and fatter; this is good because it gives you more space at the foot of the bed so that it's easier to walk around. The balcony is huge and gives you some shade/some sun. The location can't be beat: You'll never hear anyone else. Yes, the door is a regular slider. gmacruiser418 Posted November 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2011 we stayed in 1700, loved it! had to walk gingerly at night to ensure I didn't walk into the pole! I would grab it over and over again if I could find it available!
Great 2 B at Sea Posted November 8, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted November 8, 2011 Hey Linda; Thanks for all the great photos......they are awesome! One other question for you, though. Are you able to open the balcony dividers? We will have three rooms in a row and will want to open them up. Thanks again for all your valuable photos and information! Sincerely, Jayne :)

Waterdog43 Posted November 8, 2011 #9 Share Posted November 8, 2011 Hey Linda; Thanks for all the great photos......they are awesome! One other question for you, though. Are you able to open the balcony dividers? We will have three rooms in a row and will want to open them up. Thanks again for all your valuable photos and information! Sincerely, Jayne :) Jayne: Hey...no problem. Glad to be able to help out. As I recall, the dividers were stationary and not able to be opened. 1700 and 1702 you could look over to the adjoining balcony. This is 1702's balcony looking from 1700. It appeared that these were the only balconies where you could do this (other than 1400/1402) .... I'm sure if I am incorrect.... someone will post. Rare Lionesss Posted March 3, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 3, 2012 We have sailed in cabin 1568 on the Mariner and the Freedom. We will be in her again this summer on the Freedom. We (3) of us love the location. We either must be deaf, or not observant to the noises in the hallway or from the whirlpool that is on deck 11 and forward a couple cabins. We have always enjoyed this location. Have had no trouble sleeping when we are in the cabin. Safe travels
medfordgirl Posted March 3, 2012 #12 Share Posted March 3, 2012 the last time we were in 1400 on freedom I brought a couple of those stick on hooks and put them on the pole. Then I hung up our robes on it so IF we were to bump into it during the night, it wouldn't hurt so much;) I have the room again in December but I will bring more hooks just in case someone took them down. chippersep Posted October 13, 2012 #13 Share Posted October 13, 2012 I booked cabin #1400 on the Liberty of the Seas today. Our sailing is December 17, 2012. I'm just wondering if anyone can weigh-in on if this is a good decision? We switched from room 9528 to this room, 1400. Everything I've read sounds positive, but I'm still a little leery. I feel like the walk to the end of the hall might get old and the balcony might be a little too shady. Anyone know anything about these issues? Thanks! cb at sea Posted October 13, 2012 #14 Share Posted October 13, 2012 The walk is a pain....but if you want the larger balcony, you'll do it. We've never needed all that space...it's just the 2 of us, so a standard balcony is ample. We love being near the stairs and elevators...just makes life easier! Many folks covet having the larger balcony...and will put up with that long walk back and forth just to have the space. All balconies have shade most of the time.....on RCI, all balconies are covered by the deck above. Sunning is best done on the pool deck. On your balcony, you'll be happy to have shade...it gets HOT out there!
Sand_Sun_Sea73 Posted October 13, 2012 #15 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Cruising in 1400 on the Liberty for the 2nd time in January, totally worth the walk! Loved it.
