7 and 10 day pre-cruise rate differences

Can anyone explain to me why the 2 day pre cruise at the IC Tahiti costs more for the 10 day cruise vs. the 7 day cruise.

The website states:

The program for the 10-night departures has different rates due to standard air/sea flight schedules and components included in the cruise fare, is 4 nights and based on an afternoon flight from Los Angeles with an overnight in Papeete (oceanview room) prior to transfer to Taha’a for 3-nights.

I guess I don't understand what this is saying.

Are we getting more for the money difference?

Thanks in advance!

Melanie

Emdee, I wish it were that. We called and they said that is only if you are going to Taha'a. SO, I am not sure why it is posted in the Tahiti Hotel section.

PG's answer as to why the rate is more expensive is due to flight schedule and check in. I still really don't understand. Especially because our "first night" we arrive around midnight.

If anyone has any other feedback, please let me know. I just don't understand how the hotel stay is connected to the flight.
