Jasperdo Posted November 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2011 Hello, We have booked for the late dinner sitting for our cruise next week. We would like to see Movie under the Stars but I am wondering what time the movies start. Does anyone know ? The main feature of the night usually plays at 7pm and again at 10PM. Check your Princess Patter each day to see what the movie will be, and the exact times.
FawnRiver Posted November 12, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2011 I don't remember the exact times, but I would go to see the Movies sometimes after dinner while DH would go off to the casino and we would usually catch a comedian in between, so I think the late show would be around 11 or midnight. Parvatiiv Posted November 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2011 Hello, We have booked for the late dinner sitting for our cruise next week. We would like to see Movie under the Stars but I am wondering what time the movies start. Does anyone know ? Every ship I've been on has played movies and shows non stop but the big feature at like 8ish and 10ish. But it varies by ship and itinerary. What ship and sailing are you on? Cruisin' Chick Posted November 13, 2011 #11 Share Posted November 13, 2011 On the Golden back in December, the featured movie was usually shown at 7 and at 10. Then the screen was turned off until the next morning at 9 when the first movie started (for our cruise, it was usually a movie or documentary set in Hawaii). KruzPrincess Posted November 13, 2011 #12 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Basically... they'll be showing movies that have just arrived in the stores on DVD. Sometimes before DVD release, but close. The Help is on the ships now and it hasn't been released on DVD yet. Water for Elephants has been on the ships for a while and it came out on DVD on 11/1/11. They're new enough for me since I don't get to the theater much anymore. I look forward to catching up on movies on the cruise.
Shogun Posted November 13, 2011 #13 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Hi Chloedmom Thats what I love about Princess you never know what extra little bit of service you might get, I think we get this level of service not because we tip constantly or large amounts, but because we take time to get to know ships crew chat to them ask about their familys, work etc, on our last cruise I missed diner because I was not feeling to good had hurt my leg, the head waiter noticed I was missing phoned my cabin sent a waiter up with a menu, and then called back to see what I wanted then sent everything to my cabin, now suite folk might get this service but I was in an inside. Great service above and beyound. yours Shogun
Cygneagile Posted November 13, 2011 #14 Share Posted November 13, 2011 We have the early seating. I know it is early 5:30 call. The 7 o clock movie may be o.k. for us. Between movie, Casino and other attractions. This is going to be just ggggrrreat. I guess we can do all of them. My husband is not a movie goer. In fact, he is not very fond of cruising either. So he is staying home minding the house and the dogs. My friend and I are ready for a wonderful holiday. Julie and Pearl.
Beej29 Posted November 13, 2011 #15 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Will be on the Emerald of the New Year's cruise. I love movies and hope to be able to catch a few MUTS shows. However, I also love the live shows and want to be able to have time for dinner in the dining room (have anytime dining). It will be a challenge to figure out how to do everything, but that is all part of the fun. I don't get too stressed about things. Some cruises I do a lot of activities and others not so much. I watched quite a few movies a few years ago on Carnival Freedom, but nobody offered those warm blankets. It got so cold, I finally had to leave, but when I got home the movie was on HBO and I finished it then. It sounds like Princess does this much better.
