capnpugwash Posted November 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2011 Just a quick update from the QM2, the USPH inspected the ship today in New York and she scored 100%. Congratulations to all those concerned. I will say no more about it but I am sure that others will.

Cruise Liner Fan Posted November 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2011 I guess the old lady isn't too old after all... :) Well the lady which is the QM2 is only 7 going on 8 years old. That makes her an almost a brand new ship :) Regards.Jerry
Underwatr Posted November 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2011 Agree, but in the comments after her last inspection, some had expressed the opinion that a score around 90 was all that she was capable of due to her "age."
oceanic9 Posted November 18, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2011 Agree, but in the comments after her last inspection, some had expressed the opinion that a score around 90 was all that she was capable of due to her "age." I didn't hear that QM2's age was a factor rather the lazy way Cunard is managed was a factor. When QM2 was reinspected after failing her health inspection she did indeed recover with a passing grade. However, that particular score was the second lowest she ahd ever achived next to her failing grade. Now, thankfully, her operators have achieved a score of 100 which is great but it took 2 tries to get there. Not a ringing endorsement of her operators/managers. The key is wether Carnival/P&O can keep that score going in the future.
