Keep Aft Wrap or go Ocean Suite

Another vote for the aft wrap! No real difference in closets or the bathroom, they are the same as a regular balcony cabin NOT an OS.

Paul: there is one aft wrap left on our sailing on the Liberty but I'm sure it does not coincide with your boys spring break :( I am in an OS on this sailing.

Gail,

Our sailing is April 7 with their Spring Break. I've been checking every day for one to open up; I'm hoping there'll be one around the end of January after final payment.....

So if you're in an OS, you'll be out and about? :D

This March is an all girls cruise. I had an aft wrap booked and changed to an OS and we got all our cabins in a row. It will be a different but fun experience. Plan is to be on our balcony at sail away. In July we are on the Freedom for son #5's college graduation cruise! We have the aft wrap and lots of cabins around us booked for that. I will keep my fingers crossed one opens up for you. One did for our sailing the 17th and is still available!

  • 2 weeks later...

The pictures posted would they be the same for the Dream ship? Love a large room & Huge balcony but the pictures of the aft rooms seem really small and not much of a balcony.

We have sailed HAL and like their setup. Would anyone have pics of the aft room itself?

TIA

I just wish that people would stop talking about these 'aft wrap balcony' cabins.

After experiencing several of them I would assure you that they are not all that they are made out to be, and most of you would not enjoy them at all.

Please focus your cabin selections elsewhere, where you would enjoy a much better experience.

Thank you for your consideration,

gary

Yeah ... listen to Gary ... those aft wrap cabins are so awful they should be priced as low as the inside rooms with bunks ... stop booking them already ... really. I mean, I'll take one, but you guys really shouldn't bother with them ... they're really no good at all ...:p

Cruising on Spirit in May and have never had OS nor aft wrap. Currently in OS next to aft wrap on deck 6. The only aft wrap is on Deck 5 which I have read is the worst on the ship (but still awesome balcony). On this thread it sounds like some aft wraps do not have tub. Does anyone know if that is true on spirit class? I can still switch to aft wrap but for a claustrophobic person such as me I was leaning toward the larger OS room with the larger bathroom. Thanks for any advice.

Aft corner balconies (and aft balconies in general I would imagine) on the Dream a big (SMALL) joke. Sure, it's a balcony, but not even in the same league as a Spirit class balcony.

I have pictures of our aft wrap (inside and out) on the Dream - deck 7. Just look in my SmugMug link (below) and view the Dream, December 3, 2009.

Thank you so much - the room is so small :( the balcony is not large enough for a group other standing side by side. It is a shame that the glass is curved - wastes a lot of space. Guess we will take an OS room.

This thread is making me sad.

Had a wrap booked on Conquest for this past Tgiving (early saver booking got us an upgrade AND a couple of hundred OBC).

We are legal guardians for my infant granddaughter while mom completes a contract in Middle East.

Baby came down with a cold and since a cold can get better and then (hospital) worse in a heartbeat, had to cancel.

Any good times would be nil as I am the over protective, worrying type mimi.

Anyway, hope whoever got our cabin enjoyed all the little gifts the hubs had ordered sent to the ship (outside vendors, didn't save receipts) for my birthday.

DID purchase our travel ins thru Carnival and (except for the price of ins) and were refunded 100%.

Highly recommend CCL's ins as even without a good reason, we would have gotten 75% refund to apply to another cruise.

We could've booked a suite for less than a aft wrap on the CCL Destiny, went with the wrap & loved it:D.

Room was odd sized and we barely fit in teenage son on a rollaway, but he wound up hanging out on the balcony most of the time anyway.

Only issue we had was the plan was to use the balcony on our sea day, but we received a notice that the windows would be washed that day & balcony would be unavailable until 1 pm.

Of course, the best of both worlds would be the VS category cabins on deck 4 of Spirit class ships... but that's another matter!

TOM SAID IT!!!! The BEST cabin/balcony in the carnival fleet is on deck 4 of the Spirit class! I almost cried when I realized that the Magic didn't have a deck 4 aft wrap suite!! We booked an Ocean Suite for our upcoming cruise. I hope it’s as good as room #4228 on the Spirit!

And Tom… if you’re reading this I owe you a HUGE thank you! It was because of you & your post about #4228 that we booked it for our honeymoon!! We loved every minute of it!!!!

I am always lurking somewhere close by... :D

We had an OS on the Dream as well - midship, deck 7. Unfortunately, right above a hot tub and the ocean plaza area. Not real peaceful on that small balcony (amazingly so for a suite) on sea days!

I checked on that!! We are mid ship but a few rooms forward passed the atrium elevators, so I think we will be okay. I've looked a thousand times to make sure we aren’t over a hot tub!! I’ve heard bad things about those being right outside your balcony. From most of what I’ve read the people on deck 6 hate it. They say the people in the hot tub can look right in your room! Of course these people weren’t expecting this & didn't think to check it out before they booked either!

Well, in all honestly, we knew the location of this room before we sailed - though were upgraded from deck 8 corner "wrap" to the OS at no charge. I decided to accept the switch and thought it would be OK. If they offered again, I would turn it down!

Do you have pictures of the room & balcony on your smugmug? I'd like to look for comaparison if you don't care.

I have had aft wraps on the Valor twice, I thoroughly enjoyed them. I sailed on the Dream last year in an aft wrap and the balcony was much smaller and we had a lot of ash. If you don't need the inside space stay with the wrap, my opinion. I miss the wraps and stay only in a suite now only because I need to get less sun

I just checked my SmugMug photos, and noticed that I did not have many at all of the room and balcony. HERE is the link.

Tom

I am adding a couple more as we speak -- though nothing which really shows the balcony itself. There is a photo of our favorite Carnival casino host (mgr) -- Claudia!!
