resordanis Posted January 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Hi all, Just wondering what time we can board Pacific Sun when the ship does not depart until 8.00pm The stated boarding time is 4.30pm, but can we arrive earlier and board earlier? I had hoped that we could be on board by about 2.00pm! We have never had problems in the past with any other line boarding early, but have never departed at 8.00pm either. Any information would be appreciated.

Usually boarding actually starts a little bit ahead of the time they say.:) Have a great cruise. As I mentioned above, P&O states boarding is at 4.30pm for a 8.00pm departure. We have never left at 8.00pm, but then we have always arrived early and boarded. Just wondering whether about 2.30pm should be an okay time! Normo Posted January 31, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2012 Hi The number of cruises we have been on with different lines we find that boarding commences maybe 10 to 30 minutes earlier. But what we have found is that you can drop your bags. Fill-out the medical declaration and other formalities and get your boarding group number as early as possible so you are one of the first group to board. only once did they start actually boarding 1 hour earlier. I suppose they wait until the captain gives the all clear the ship has been prepared to take passengers. also have a look what time the ship gets in that morning. the earlier it is in suppose the more chance it will be ready earlier for passengers in the arvo. What we have found with the South pacific cruises there a lot of first time cruisers and they tend to get there early, so do we as well. if our boarding said 4.30 PM we would get there about 3PM if we lived in Sydney which we do not so we would get there whenever we got to Sydney or left the hotel as the luggage restricts us from doing much anyway
sjm1965 Posted January 31, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 31, 2012 By any chance are we talking the 7th Feb departure Sydney to Newcastle? If so, "HI", there are 4 of us going on that one.... was on a quick Pacific Sun last year and boarding commenced exactly on time. it was a 12noon boarding p.s. there is very little to do if you are there early except sit. Its not like the circular quay terminal.

I guess no lunch on board this trip, which is what usually happens!;)
