Can I make a 12:30 flight at SYD?

We're taking the Dawn Princess for a Sydney-to-Sydney Eclipse cruise in November. After we get off the ship at the end of the cruise, we are extending our vacation by flying to New Zealand. There’s a Sydney-Auckland flight from Aerolineas Argentinas that’s about $100 cheaper than Air New Zealand, but it leaves at 12:30 p.m. Would we be able to make that flight? Princess says its bus takes about 45 mins to get to airport from the pier, but advises no flight earlier than 1:45 pm.

if the ships on time and you are in the first batch off you should be thru customs by 7.45-8am and catch a taxi and you should be at the airport by 8.30am (i wouldnt catch the princess bus) you would have to be at the airport by 9.30 for check in.....if the ships running late you would have to have a plan B ready

The latest check-in might be two hours ahead - you would need to check. If that is the case you would be OK if the ship was reasonably on time and you get a taxi. It would only cost around $40 and I think Princess would charge you $20pp or even more. Buying the shuttle tickets direct from the company costs $15.:D You can ask to be in the earliest disembarkation group.

We have made midday flights to NZ after a cruise, but as said above, we disemarked in the first group and jumped straight into a taxi.

If the tags they give you for your disembarkation do not suit , just go to the front desk and they will change them for what you want.

Should also point out that we have missed flights through the ship being late....however in that case they rebooked us on a later flight and we just had to wait around the terminal for an evening flight. There are plenty of flights Trans Tasman each day with Air NZ and Qantas, , but not sure about Aerolineas Argentinas as their flight just transits through Auckland on its way to South America.
