iwannacruz Posted January 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2012 I remember reading some time ago that Platinum members can get to their rooms on embarkation day before 1:30 p.m. (and that cabin stewards are instructed to clean and ready these rooms 1st to accomodate this). Can anyone comment on this? Is this true on all Carnival ships?
cruising3times Posted January 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2012 We are platinum members and we were on the Legend last week, we could not go to our cabins before 1:30, they actually opened the doors several minutes early.
ready2cruzagain Posted January 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2012 This has been discussed on here several times in the past. You will get those that say Yes do it and those that say No...not a benefit. I can find no where under the platinum benefits that it states that this is allowed. There are signs up saying cabins will be available after 1:30pm...they DO NOT say...unless you are platinum. We are platinum and go to our rooms after 1:30pm. okgirl Posted January 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2012 I remember reading some time ago that Platinum members can get to their rooms on embarkation day before 1:30 p.m. (and that cabin stewards are instructed to clean and ready these rooms 1st to accomodate this). Can anyone comment on this? Is this true on all Carnival ships? This is not true, though it's been done by some.......you will have people tell you that they have been told that it's okay to do this and that the cabin stewards don't mind the inconvenience.....but the fact is they as well as those at guest services are there to please and they will generally say just about anything is okay....... Also, your cabin is not necessarily kept locked even though you may leave it that way......while the cabins are being turned over the doors are all proped open.....and even after they are finished, they will often come back and open all the doors so that the Hotel Manager can do their random inspection.....so your belongings are not completely secure... When my sister and I get on the ship we each have a carry on......we don't smuggle and don't bring wine or soda's or water with us.....I guess if we did we would bring that stuff in a roller bag so it wasn't so cumbersome. We generally stop at the lobby bar for a drink, go to the Lido buffet and get a table outside, the go get something to eat one at a time........then we go either down to the promenade or the aft Lido and sit and people watch until 1:30......we prefer the Promenade because we're usually on the Upper deck and at 1:30 it's easy enough to get to our cabin to stow our stuff......... Cruise-Crazy Posted January 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2012 The most I have done on maybe two occasions was drop off my bags in the cabin. These guys don't need the agrivation of someone in the cabin when they are trying to work.
kicia Posted January 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2012 We have been told by the cabin stewards that the cabins for Platinum and Milestone guests are cleaned first. We have also been told that we could go to the room early when we were at the check in desk but only a couple of times and it is not written anywhere.
