earliest flights- how early have you made?

Without self debarkation, we have been to FLL as early as 900am a couple times. One of those didn't involve immigration, as we cleared at our last port before Port Everglades. The last couple sailings we have done from there though, we have carried our stuff off, so it's been probably 10 years since we did standard debarkation from that port. We do tend to follow the guidelines and book later flights, and we have managed to get on earlier ones as standby.

The earlier you book, the higher the risk you take....and the risk involves such things as late arrival into port..late customs clearance of the ship....long wait lines at FLL check-in and security...etc.. and the possible higher costs and later flights associated with missing you flight...

we personally book nothing before noon...

  • 2 weeks later...

We made a 10:00 a.m. flight. Never do that again. In the middle of the week we were told by the purser that we wouldn't make it. We stressed out for the rest of the week, carried our luggage and run off the ship at the end of the cruise. Luckily immigration went well, we got our luggage right away. We made it with a little time to spare but not the way I want to have a lovely stress free vacation.
