Victoria

We will be in Victoria in the evening. 7PM to Midnight I believe. We will have my 15 year old son with us. My question is, should we go to Fisherman’s Wharf or go downtown?

Is Fisherman’s Wharf worth going to? Or would we have more fun downtown. It's kind of hard with such a short time that we will be there.

Any help will be appreciated.

Victoria's fishermans' wharf is quite small, not at all like San Francisco's. You can walk into town, about a 20 mins walk, and pass fishermans' wharf. I will attach a list of things that you may care to do in downtown Victoria.

What to do with a 15 yo? Their interests are so varied. You might consider passing off your sightseeing list to him as a homework assignment, starting from TripAdvisor or maybe tourismvictoria.com. His problem will be that some attractions, the Royal BC Musem for example, will be closed by the time you arrive and that the whale watching tours, which I'd highly recommend, are usually back in town by dusk. Although the cruise line did not arrange a 7 PM arrival time for your sightseeing convenience but to comply with US law, you can still see something.

I agree with the advice just above about Fishermen's Wharf, which is not one of Victoria's significant attractions.

I'm interested in doing a whale watching trip when I'm in Victoria in May. I found a company that I like (Prince of Whales). My questions is, the company is at 812 Wharf Street - can you tell me how far that is from where NCL will dock in Victoria?

Thanks for your help.

It will take you about 25 mins to walk to them or you can take a cab which will cost you about $10/$12. A closer excursion is Orca Spirit which operates out of Fishermans Wharf about a 10 min walk from the cruise terminal.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check Orca Spirit out.
