Coffee Bar/Pastries?

It seems like I remember reading last year (it was right after my cruise last May) that someone said the coffee bar has free pastries. Is that correct or can someone give me the info on that? Are they the same as what they serve in the DR and on Lido? Thanks!

Yes they do have free pastries and they are the same as served in MDR and lido.

We returned from the Dream yesterday and the only coffee bar pastries we encountered where the ones you pay for (carrot cake, chocolate covered strawberries, other cakes, cookies, specialty coffees, etc). If there were other free pastries I did not see them. I can only give you my experience.

one thing i've wondered, is the coffee bar free? Can i get my morning espresso drink there?

The coffee bar and pastries are not free. You have to purchase them.:(:eek:

Coffee shop = $3 for 5

BV = $12.50 for 4 berries and 4 chocolates

I go there almost every night after dinner in the MDR to get Irish coffee made with Jameson. Here is the one on the Liberty (pre-2.0):

i had the strawberry cheesecake from the speciality coffee shop on the magic. it was AMAZING!!! i dont remember what i paid for it, but it was a huge piece and wasnt that much money

Those prices are off, the carrot cake was $2.25 and the chocolate cake $2.50 per slice.

this is either an old menu or the prices are not fleetwide.

 

just off the Legend and the cakes arre 2.50 each slice. and strawberries are 1.25 for 1 3 for 2.50 and 5 for 4.00

My hubby and I shared a slice (actually it was more a slab) of the chocolate cake on Splendor last year and it was well worth the 2.50, let me tell you! We also ordered room service once night and got the cheesecake and it was delicious too!

We always end up cruising around someone's birthday or some other type of special occasion - order the chocolate cake - cheaper than getting one at the grocery stores by home, and DELICIOUS!!!!!!

last March on the Dream - in the morning - they had pastries on the coffee counter with no charge - these were the same kind that you would find on the buffet or could order through room service.

 

On the day that everyone else was tendering into Belize, I sat in one of the comfy booth/tables on the ocean plaza and bought a french vanilla latte and enjoyed an apple danish and a cinnamon roll that were warm and crispy on the edges, soft and sweet in the middle.

 

There was a charge for the latte but not for the pastries.
