Would you give up your Cove for a regular balcony?

It's all what you want.

We want to try a cove balcony really bad!

I want to be closer to the water rather than further.

Us too! So at least for this first time I wouldn't give it up.. Maybe for a suite, but not for any other regular balcony!

This morning I decided to check the current rates for my cruise as I always do. To my surprise my rate had dropped from $1179 to $1169. Now I know it was only $10 but hey, that's like 1-1/2 drinks on board. So I called up Carnival to see about a rate reduction, and was told that that rate was only for the regular balconies, but I could upgrade to an 8C from my 7C and get the lower rate. So I pulled the trigger. Do you guys think I did the right thing?

IMHO -- No. I would rather have a cove, down low and close to the water anytime :):).

Ok so false alarm!!! After booking the 8C cabin, I decided to do a mock booking and and double check the fare price. To my surprise there was ANOTHER drop and the new fare was $1099! After looking further in, I saw that there was only one room at the even lower price, guess what room it was....My old cabin!!! So I called carnival back and the cruise specialist was more than happy to book me back into my cove, and instead of the $10 price drop, I saved $80 p/p AND got to keep my cove!!!

Good job!!!!!!;)

Having sailed in a Cove I don't believe I've become part of a cult. The cabin's location is wonderful... the views are fantastic and everything is convenient.

For those who love the sea there is no better cabin...

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it...

:)

What he said.:D

I love being so close to the water. The balconies are also a bit larger and since the wall doesn't slant in, feel larger still. But it is all about the water for me. Although it is true that I have not sailed in a rought sea yet.

Love being close to the water too. We haven't sailed in seas rough enough to warrant closing off the balconies, but I think if we were, I probably wouldn't be out on my regular balcony in weather like that either.

Once I heard Magic was coming to Galveston I checked out coves the best I could. One question, seeing they're on deck 2 how rough does it have to be before they're locked & metal door shut and your balcony becomes an OV ?

We just booked 2 rooms side by side on the Magic for Sept 30th. Cabins 2431 and 2435. I hope we are able to open the partition and are excited about the cabin.

We are also going on the Magic Sept. 30. We have 2334, right off portside of the mid-ship elevators We are sort of caddy-corner from your group beachlover. We can't wait...this is our first cove balcony and we can't wait to drink the Kool-aid:D

Even though we haven't experienced a Cove yet, there is no way I would upgrade. We had a deck 8 balcony cabin on the Dream in December and while it was great, we are very excited to be in a cove for our B2B on the Breeze. We lucked out and got the same cabin for the 2 & 8 day. :D
