I'm really not good with forms, is there an easy way to find out what piers we are at when we come to port....For example what is the name of the port we are at in ST. Thomas?

Name of port is Charlotte Amalie

Try this link..

Go to your month of arrival - it will show the ship and what pier it's scheduled for. Note - (CB) means Crown Bay and (Wico) means Havensight.

When I went to St. John, I booked an excursion thru the cruise line. You can also take a taxi to Red Hook (I think that's the name) and catch a ferry there. You don't HAVE to go to St. John, there's plenty to do in St. Thomas. I prefer St. John just because it's far less commercialized and quieter than St. Thomas, especially when there are 5, 6, or 7 ships in port.

We took a shore excursion offered through the cruise line. St. John is gorgeous. We did a day tour of the island. We were able to see pretty much everything, but didn't have much beach time except for a quick look-see.

It is a long ferry ride and quite rough at times. I get seasick and the ride made me a bit queasy. Nothing major, but I noticed the motion.

It's a beautiful trip over and back and a beautiful island.

I also got a little queasy on the ride over. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. You'll pass Nekkar Island that's owned by Richard Branson on the way over. His house recently burned to the ground, but everyone made it out safely.

We took a catamaran over to St. John to snorkel. Anchored near a gorgeous deserted beach where you could swim in and play on beach and/or snorkel off the catamaran. Later we were served lunch with champagne and had the best rum punch on the way back to St. Thom. Loved it!!!!!!

Hi,

Sailing on the silhouette 2/22, so excited !

Have a question on how much cash to take, we have only cruises one other time 10 years ago, so I don't recall.

Is everything on the ship get charged to your account and do you use cash for the casino?

And on the islands is cash only for purchases?

Sorry for so many questions

Thanks,

Looking forward to meeting you at the connection party!

It has been years but we took a cab to Red Hook and caught the ferry to St. John. Once there you can take a small bus or cab to Trunk Bay for excellent snorkeling. They have an underwater National Park there that is unique. Have fun!!!

A friend and I went on a cruise once and then took the ferry over to St John and stayed in a tree cottage on Maho Bay for a week. It is beautiful over there. The cottage overlooked the water.

We took the ferry over to St Thomas a couple of times to look around when we were there.

You can google it: www.maho.org

The main draw is the beach....the water is super-clear and warm....it's probably the prettiest beach I've EVER been to. Getting in that extremely clear water, at body-temperature is a weird feeling, since you can't see or feel the water....disconcerting, but fun! I wish we'd had more time there. We, too, too the ship's excursion, since we didn't want to have to bother with all the "connections" you need to do it on your own.

We don't suffer motion sickness, and had no problems on the ferry ride over. Then, there was a bus to the beach....

You should check out the "Celebrityconnections" roll call for Silhouette's 2/22 sailing. Pretty much everything gets charged to your account - I'm not sure about casino - we always bring cash for that - plus for extra tips if service is outstanding and for room service. Cash or credit cards work on islands, but I prefer cash. What I do is bring a few hundred reserve in travelers checks - to cash on ship, I do not like carrying too much cash.

Looks like we've done the same excursion on our trans-atlantic. It's still our most memorable cruise excursion! :D If you want something special book a champagne-catamaran!

And if you like jewels with real stones look out for the turqoise larimarcheapest prices i've ever have seen!:)

Have a great cruise!
