Summer 2013 bookings open

My TA says that Oceania will be going back to Alaska in 2013. If and when I get any details on this or any other info, I will post it here.

Regatta will be sailing to Alaska in 2013 with dates in May through August. There are 7, 9 and 10 day cruises starting from San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver with some ending in these same ports. Bookings will open on March 7th.

Regatta will be sailing between New York and Montreal starting on September 12th, 2013 returning to New York on September 24th, back to Montreal on October 6th and finally Montreal to Miami on October 18th.

Thank you for this information but in prior cases, my cruise specialist travel agent was ALWAYS able to receive Oceania's advance intinerary notices but in this case, there was a clitch on Oceania's end in sending it to her. I would like to add that the problem has now been resolved and she has received the electronic brochure.

This is weird. I got the 2013 schedule in the mail, i think directly from O. Never thought twice about it. Where does it say I only got it with the requirement that I not show it to anybody?

Most people got theirs in the mail today. However the repeat clients of certain travel agents received electronic copies on Friday. Now that it is in the mail I can't see any reason to not have it public knowledge.

Frankly I can't see what all the fuss is about. TAs or passengers can't make reservations until Wednesday and I doubt most cabins will fill up in one day, even on Oceania. Certainly getting the brochure two days early is plenty of time to peruse it. The only advantage in getting an e-copy is if you are not at home to read the mail.

Guess a lot of the hype is the prestige of being "on the list".

Last year and the year before, we were thrilled to book early for the great prices. But the prices I saw today in the brochure I received were not lower than the prices for general release next week. Am I missing something?

I am not sure what you mean

Maybe the difference has nothing to do with timing but just an overall price increase. Our price for a B4 veranda on the Rome to Rio cruise for 2012 is $500 per person lower than the price for the Barcelona to Rio for 2013, both 18 nights, both with air. Of course, the airfare alone could account for the increase I suppose.

That's us: the not-at-home-to-read-the mail crowd. If my postman cooperates, I might get the last four days worth of back mail delivered today. If not, I could be spending the next two-three days trying to track down our missing mail. (That's what happened last weekend so I'm not exaggerating.)

 

I'm jealous of those of you who are already planning your summer 2013 trips. Can someone please check the brochure and tell me if Riviera/Marina will be doing an itinerary similar to its June 5, 2012 cruise? (This year's itinerary is Barcelona to Lisbon with a swing through a number of North African ports.)

There is a Barcelona to Lisbon cruise on Riviera on Sept 19th. It does Spanish and Portuguese ports including Casablanca.

Tomorrow Oceania should post the new cruises, I guess.

The September 19 cruise is the same itinerary as the June 5, but that fall date doesn't work. We'll have to wait for the 2013 possibilities.

I want to know what happened to Iceland in Summer of 2013. We couldn't do it this year so we were looking forward to next year. It is supposed to be so beautiful there and it was definitely on my bucket list. I wonder if, like Alaska, it will skip a year and then come back in 2014?

 

Does anybody have any "inside" information about what happened to Iceland?

I misunderstood your post. My held-mail was actually delivered today so I was able to browse through Oceania's brochure myself. The 2012 fall cruise sailing is September 12. You graciously provided the only date for 2013; a summer sailing doesn't exist in 2013.
