Galveston Post Cruise Tour through Princess?

Sunny AZ Girl

Recommended Posts

In the past we have enjoyed post-cruise tours through the cruise line (Seattle, Ft. Lauderdale) with airport drop off. I do not see anything on Princess' website regarding this kind of tour. I know it is a new port for Princess, so I checked Carnival's website and did not see any excursions listed for Galveston, either. Does anyone know if this type of tour is ever offered? We will be flying out of Hobby.

Thank you for the extensive list. I am sure there will be many on these boards who will benefit from it. However, at this point we plan to go right from the ship to the airport. It would be nice to be able to see some of the area along the way. We will not be renting a car or staying overnight post-cruise. However, we are over a year away and we may change our minds down the road.

1 of the drawbacks of cruising out of Galveston

I think the cruiselines dont do it since the airport is so far away.

It takes about an hour to get to HOU

Too bad. I know they run a shuttle. It would be great to see some of the sights along the way. I would book a later flight to accommodate a post-cruise tour if one were available. I don't like worrying my luggage and those tours handle it all for you. Most of the time on a cruise we do private tours, but post-cruise is one of those exceptions, unless we are staying overnight.

I agree, that is what we do the first time we cruise out of a port. I dont know why one of the locals doesnt have a post cruise tour contract with any of the cruislines.

They could easily do a drive thru The Strand, along the Seawall and than up Broadway and all those historic houses to the 10 and on to the airport.

While Its a great drive to port........ it could be better port if they had one way rentals for people flying in. Something like what Orlando/Port Canaveral does

One of the reasons we always chose to cruise out FLL or MIA was lack of transportation between airport and port. Also it expensive to fly to Houston from anywhere.
