laumicmah Posted March 2, 2012 #28 Share Posted March 2, 2012 I heard this song play recently and I keep singing it and it makes me think about my upcoming cruise...don't know why...Southern Nights by Glen Campbell
Scottohiocpa Posted March 2, 2012 #29 Share Posted March 2, 2012 If you're headed to the Caribbean, any steel drum ( Calypso ) music will put your mind in cruise mode. It's sad that Carnival no longer has a live steel drum band playing music on the Lido deck.:( I'm planning to have plenty of Calypso music loaded on my ipod for our next cruise.:D I agree..... I miss the steel drum band and the Midnight Buffet the most.
Billzilla66 Posted March 2, 2012 #30 Share Posted March 2, 2012 "Come Sail Away" by Styx, and a good song to get you in the mood for snorkeling, if that's on your plans this cruise, is "Octopus's Garden" by the Beatles.:D I forgot an obvious snorkeling song. "Under The Sea" from The Little Mermaid.:D

Athankfulheart Posted March 2, 2012 #33 Share Posted March 2, 2012 "I'm on a Boat". :D. Hilarious. I only know of this song because some kids at my daughter's college did a of it. She goes to College of the Ozarks, a school with some tight morals based rules. Here are some of the songs from my cruise playlist -- Three Little Birds - Bob Marley Somewhere Beyond the Sea - Frank Come Sail Away - Styx Into The Mystic - Van Morrison Sailing - Christopher Cross When the Sun Goes Down - K. Chesney Life in a Northern Town - Dream Academy La Mer - Charles Trenet ( in my opinion, better than the english version) Brown Eyed Girl - J. Taylor

yst347 Posted March 3, 2012 #44 Share Posted March 3, 2012 It's a bit bubble gum but I like to start my cruise with Rhythm of the Ocean by Hawaiian Style Band. I discovered this song several years ago after we booked our Spirit to Hawaii cruise. It was one of two songs playing in the background on the Waikiki Beach web cam page and I just fell in love with it. Like I said it's pure pop but give it a listen.....I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :)

Here is a version by college students at a school with less tight moral values -acapella! (F-bomb WARNING) Pretty good though. This is the original SNL version (explicit) If you can get beyond the language, this is one of my fave SNL shorts. (F-bomb WARNING) Australian Navy guys version...Again...
