Russian Nesting Dolls?

We are not going to Sitka :( We are visiting Juneau, Ketchikan & Skagway. Would any of these ports have Russian nesting dolls? If you've seen them, can you give me an idea of where?

Try the Tongass Trading stores in Ketchikan. They have several locations

and I have seen them at each one. They seem to be pretty plentiful and in

a number of different sizes.

There will be many shops in each port that sell these dolls. The hard part for you will be picking out how many dolls you want in a nest (it can range from 5 up to 30 or so), and which "dress" you want. The smaller sets make great gifts for the folks back home. The large sets are quite expensive but if you have room to dispay them are beautiful and unusual.

There is a pretty large shop in Juneau on the main shopping street. Let your nose lead you to a chocolate/fudge shop and it is right next door. I doubt you will miss it.

I can guarantee you that in all of the gift shops there will be nesting dolls. They are a highly popular item in Alaska not just Sitka. Have a great cruise.

In Sitka there is a small shop right near the Russian Orthodox church (sorry, I can't recall the name, but it's to the left if you are facing the front door of the church) that had beautiful pieces.

My parents went to a place called Rushin' Tailor in Skagway which sells these dolls (I'm making a return stop for embroidered pins my mom wishes she'd gotten).

You'll also be able to buy them on board the ship as well -whichever one you're on. :)
