Mariners Luncheon on the NA

sail seven seas

Recommended Posts

On our June Eurodam cruise medals were awarded at a special function held in the Culinary Arts Center (Queen's Lounge) to Mariners who had reached medallion levels. We were recognized as well with 252 days and had our pic taken with Captain even though we were not receiving a new medallion.

On our Nieuw Amsterdam cruises, those who had medallions and those ready to receive one were invited to Queen's Lounge prior to the luncheon. Captain and Hotel Manager presented the Medallions, photos were taken, and we received the photos in our mailbox a day or two later.

That was happened on our cruise - we got on when Sail got off. After the medal ceremony, we moved to the MDR for the Mariners Luncheon. The Medillion winners were seated in a reserved area on the elevated landing, in the center of the MDR. The HM then spoke about various things, and the Mariner program. He then introduced the couple on board with the most days - 1600+ days !!! - who happened to be seated next to us. Wonderful THIN couple:D

To clarify: medalions are not given based on star status but rather on number of actual days sailed.

That is true. Only actual days sail count for medallions.

The extra days you get for staying in Suite's or the extra monies spent while cruising do not count for medallions.
