Terpsfan1 Posted March 22, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Thanks. I assume it is a flat rate and they would charge you extra to stop at a liquor store.
BlueHerons Posted March 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Thanks. I assume it is a flat rate and they would charge you extra to stop at a liquor store. I can't remember if it is a flat fare and if so your cabbie cannot. If it is metered, the meter will keep running, which is fair, you'll probably just want to be quick. CruiserBruce Posted March 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2012 It is a flat rate. Of course the cabbie will charge you extra for the stop.
JohninDC Posted March 22, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Some have reported success in negotiating with the driver for a $10 tip on top of the flat rate fare instead of running the meter. Why a tip instead of a higher fare you ask? Because the driver keeps all of his tips, but splits the cab fare with the cab company. :o Good luck! :)
