rdsqrl Posted March 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2012 Actually, they only come down from the ceiling in a balcony cabin. In your cabin, they'll fold down from opposite walls. Because of that, even when folded away, they'll stick out a bit into the room; you'll need to be careful not to bang into them, especially if you have your bed made up as a queen. kathy_bc Posted March 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2012 I was in a bunk on the Golden in January. Ours was an inside room, and the bunk folded down from the wall. The first morning, the steward folded the bed away, but we asked for it to stay down so we could lie up there at any time. We moved the ladder to down the end of the of the bed (rather than on the side). Worked fine! The only downside, is that there isn't a little fold down table, for your book/eye glasses, etc. We put a towel down the side, and put the ipod/glasses on that, so they don't fall on the person below. As shown below If you are not using the upper berths, the bottom beds can be configured as a single queen size bed.
highheel girl Posted March 26, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2012 As stated above it depends on the ship/cabin type.
