Celebrity Solstice review

We just returned from our week on the Celebrity Solstice and wanted to do a recap while it is still fresh in my mind..

The ship itself it beautiful and has a very modern feel to it and very well layed out easy to get to one end of the ship to another.

We were in a balcony cabin 7144 also very nice with plenty of storage space and nice balcony furniture. They had the high table so great to eat out there.. Bathroom was a nice size with good storage space and a great shower...Cabin was nicely decorated.

Activities were well arrange and quite a bit of life enhancements programs that were enjoyable and educational along with the regular type of activities you will find on a ship...Glad there were no belly flop or sexy leg contests.

Shows were good and varied throughout the week, good comedian also magician and the production shows were quite good..

Staff are incredible Rosemarie in the Sky lounge was a complete joy, Angel Maitre'd from Murano gave new meaning to service more on him later. Our Room steward was also very good.. I found all the staff to be very friendly and approachable and felt they all wanted you to have a good time and would do their best to insure that you did..

Corning Hot glass show was our favorite activity on the ship and for us made the cruise experience even more enjoyable if you go on one of the Solstice ships that have the glass show go it is a unique and fascinating experience.

Food is so subjective but overall the food was good

MDR-much better then I expected and service was great.

Ocean view café-really do not care for buffets but this one had some really good items..They did run out of plates several times kind of told me they may need to order more, when the plates did come out of the dish room they were very hot to handle and since they ran out people were waiting on them. I like that they did not offer hot dogs and hamburgers on the buffet. Quite a few of the items did not change much during the week but we did find many choices we did like.

We did Silk Harvest thought it was good. Sushi was a big hit, curry needed more coconut milk but overall a good experience.

Murano is one of our all time favorite restaurants on any ship we ever been on we have dined there 4 times in the past on Celebrity Century a few years ago and have to say this restaurant changed the most..

We dined there the first night and were so disappointed, We did the tasting menu with wine pairing wine was great, food was under seasoned and one of the courses Risotto had foam and the risotto was liquid. Needless to say we did not enjoy our meal but we did speak with the Maitre'd Angel who was great also spoke with the Food and Beverage director the next day to let him know how disappointed we were with the dining experience not with the service but the food preparation..They did make it up to us on the second formal night and if the first night was disappointing the second time was incredible and it was the Murano we remembered..Thank you Angel for making our experience so enjoyable..

Our ports were PR, Saint Thomas and St Martin.

We have been to these ports several times we did not do any excursions but we enjoy all these islands and have our favorite places to go..

I have to mentioned our fellow passengers on this cruise as well who were so much fun and everyone seemed to talk to one another throughout the cruise which made this experience so wonderful...

We would do another S class ship again in a heartbeat overall it was a great experience and one we will remember for a long time.

Appreciate your reviewing bringing back nice memories from our June Solstice cruise in the Med. Lots of your viewpoints matched our experiences on this well-designed ship.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
