jolgro Posted April 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2012 We cruise the Norwegian Jewel leaving Manhattan cruise terminal. When 2 ships sail on the same day, do they use one terminal or do they have their own check-in terminal. Can taxi's bring you to the entrance of the NCL terminal or do you have to walk from some point. Thanks in advance
njhorseman Posted April 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Piers 88 and 90 can each accommodate two ships (one on each side of the pier). NCL ships almost always use Pier 88, the other ship may be berthed on the opposite side of 88 or at Pier 90. It will be obvious where the ships are berthed. Your taxi can pull right up to the entrance of your ship's pier. Sometimes people opt to get dropped off across the street from the cruise terminal on the northbound side of 12th Ave. and walk across the street to their pier with their luggage in tow in order to avoid sitting in traffic while the taxi meter is ticking away, running up the fare. (This assumes you are coming from somewhere south of the cruise terminal.)
smeyer418 Posted April 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2012 the Manhattan cruise terminal has one motor entrance for all three finger piers...like an airport they will have signs up with the name of your ship. The motor entrance is at 54-55th street and 12th avenue... http://mapq.st/IpCVMI here is an aerial view. that is an NCL ship at pier 88 north. Pier 88 south can hold another large ship Pier 90 holds two large ships Pier 92 one large ship you can see the ramp extends to all three piers.
