localady Posted April 20, 2012 #27 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Well on our several of our last cruises we have noted that the tux is dead. It was nice to get dressed to the nines but those days are gone. Now I have to decide what to do with my two tuxes and one dinner jacket. Maybe a ceremonial cremation on the front lawn ? I would check your local ordinances for "ceremonial burning" (I am thinking the whole cremation thing is already outlawed:eek:) but you might have less problems with the local authorities if ya did it in the backyard! ;)
Bippie Posted April 20, 2012 #28 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Not on the front lawn -- think of all the work you will have to do to get rid of those burn marks. ...and after years of dry cleaning, who knows how toxic the fumes might be :)
KirkNC Posted April 20, 2012 #29 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Yikes, is this like a book burning, does this mean the Mayans are right :p.
tandkquinn Posted April 22, 2012 #30 Share Posted April 22, 2012 I understand that some folks are now refusing to bring their bloomers, corsets, top hats and spats when they cruise. What unwashed heathens.

Palmetto Lady Posted April 22, 2012 #32 Share Posted April 22, 2012 My husband enjoys wearing his tuxedo, however he formerly wore his black loafers with it. Now he has special diabetic shoes he wears (courtesy of Medicare). The fashion police has not thrown him overboard. I doubt if anyone even noticed. When I criticized, he commented that they were comfortable. He only wears "comfortable". I'm happy that he finds his tuxedo "comfortable".
