How can I change a cabin?

Can can I go about changing my cabin? I booked VF 4031 not knowing it has a solid veranda railing ( not the see through plexiglas ). Can I call HAL and have them set me up in another VF? Are all VF's without the clear verandah wall?!

I would think if you booked through HAL you can phone and see what else is available. Hopefully someone else can answer your question about the VF's.

All VFs on Deck 4 have steel railings, the ones on Deck 5 have plexiglass. The balconies on Deck 5 are not very deep, I believe.

Try to move up to deck 5 but do realize you will be giving up some space for the plexiglass rail instead. :-)

 

For what it's worth, sometimes the plexi gets so salted up you can't see much through it either way, so weigh your options.

I called HAL. They only had non plexiglass cabins or a handicap room. I asked about upgrading and she told me there was a drastic reduction in the cruise. I went from VF to a VC cabin! Yay!
