How much food does a 7-nt cruise use?

Please help with some facts for my research!

We've heard the list read while on the ship: "During this cruise, we consumed x pounds of lobster, steak, cheese, x gallons of ice cream", etc. Does anyone have a full list? If so, it would be helpful to know the ship involved and the number of cruise nights.

Thank you!

It's an impossible question, since cruise ships range greatly in size - some carry less than 500 passengers, while others carry over 5000. You could probably get the stats for several ships on several itineraries, then see if there's an average amount of food per passenger per day........

I'd recommend contacting the cruise lines' public relations departments directly - I'm sure they're happy to give out approximate amounts.

It would vary by cruise line -- size of ship -- length of cruise, etc.

We use to go to the ship's kitchen tour and they would pass out information giving how much they approximately use on that particular cruise.

The biggest variable would, of course, be the number of people on board.
