Carnival Valor PHOTO Review, April 28 - May 6, 2012

Recommended Posts

Oh my gosh, I just realized that I totally skipped over St. Thomas!! LOL! So I'm back-tracking now by one day and going BACK to Day 6. We had planned to do the Magen's Bay Beach tour (it drove to the lookout points and then dropped you at the beach), but since the weather looked really bad in the morning, we skipped the trip and decided to just walk/goof around this day.

Once again we got gipped with our starboard view...

Ahhhh lovely port side view!

We wandered down the pier to get some photos and yep, you guessed it, another time-lapse! You can see the storm clouds start creeping in...

We went back on the ship to have some lunch and wait for the rain to clear.

Not too shabby of a view to enjoy your meal!

Relaxing and waiting out the rain...

The rain finally let up so we headed out to explore the shops outside the pier.

I loved this wind chime! It was made out of painted shells, so cool.

Beautiful flowers along the sidewalk...

phonewire2sony.jpg

Interesting set-up... the phone wire went up, wrapped around a branch of the tree, and then up on to the roof.

Goofing around, having fun. Apparently I was in a jumping mood this day!

Time to head back to the ship.

I loved watching the planes fly over the island as we were waiting to sail away from port. They would appear from the other side of the island, and it looked like they'd have to make a serious climb at a heavy angle, probably to clear the hills I'd guess. Pretty cool to watch.

What a shocker, hubby doing another time-lapse!

Cool pirate looking ship came into view as we started sailing away...

As we were sailing out of port, I grabbed a photo of where we were married on St. Thomas five years ago (as part of a Carnival Liberty cruise.) It was somewhere right around here, on Limetree Beach.

birds25d.jpg

We had a flock of seagulls following the ship out to sea because a group of people were throwing hot dog buns for them to catch. Not the best idea, but I took the opportunity to take some photos.

Sailing further away from our last port, bye-bye St. Thomas! Hope to have better weather next time.

Enjoying the couch bowl on Serenity.

sauna850px.jpg

Ok, so I seriously never knew there was a sauna on the ship?! I guess that's because we've never gone to the gym ;)

punchliner850px.jpg

We decided to check out the comedians in the Eagle's Lounge. We'd heard that it filled up very fast, and they weren't kidding! We arrived a half hour early and could still barely find a seat!

Enjoying a late night movie on Lido Deck - loved that they offer popcorn! They were playing The Aviator, we didn't stay for the whole movie though.

OK so now back to Day 8, the last day at sea! My husband took a lot of photos around the ship of the different rooms, etc. so that's most of what will follow. I will try my best to keep them arranged in order...

Some sort of animals in the water... we didn't get a close enough look to know for sure what they were.

Ok, these photos might be a little random....

Our cruise director Matt poking his head into a photo of my husband. We absolutely LOVED Matt! He did such a great job, was funny and entertaining - as was the assistant cruise director Everson - great team aboard the Valor!!!

A photo with our amazing room steward Noel - he was the best!!!

Ok, I think that's it!! Thank you everyone for all the kind words and messages you left throughout my 'review!' I hope everyone has enjoyed looking at the photos and that they either brought back memories for you or got you excited for your upcoming cruise on Valor :) Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like to ask me any questions or if you're interested in seeing my husband's time-lapse video that he's putting together (he hopes to have it done and posted online in the next week or so.)

Happy cruising everyone!!! :D
