Carnival Valor PHOTO Review, April 28 - May 6, 2012

Recommended Posts

Great review! Sorry if I missed it along the way but what kind of camera did your husband use, the pictures are beautiful

Thanks! All of the photos were taken with either a Canon 5d Mark II, Canon 7D or Sony Cybershot (almost all of the last 'ship' photos were with the 5d.)

Thank you do much for posting your beautiful photos. You guys are adorable! I'll be looking for the video.

I'm sure you remember my husband and I from trivia at Winston's and the gender game :)

Vicki and RJ

Goonies never say die!

Haha of course!! Maybe we'll cross paths on another cruise and the Goonies can dominate at trivia again (... or get last place ;) LOL)

Fantastic review! Loved all the wonderful pictures. Really makes me excited for my upcoming cruise on the Valor on June 9th!

The only correction I would make is that the name of the casino appears to be the Shogun Casino, not the Shotgun Casino ;)...although they may have used shotguns back then, but, more than likely they used samurai swords.

Thanks, again, for the wonderful photo review. I hope that our pictures of the Valor are half as good as yours were.

We were on this cruise with you. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures so I could relive the fabulous week. We were not on any of your excursions but you both look familiar so I am sure we crossed paths on the ship. My husband is a large man that uses a walker and I was sporting a cast and using a cane after I broke my foot in St. Martin. What a pair. Gimp and Gimpyer. LOL

You are right about the planes. We went to Maho beach. (where I broke my foot) After take off they have to bank hard to miss the mountain.

We also went to shell beach and got to see the sea creatures.

I am so glad you remembered to post St. Thomas. I had to stay on the ship that day because the cast was still setting up so I couldnt put any weight on it and a wheelchair was out of the question. I was looking forward to it because we have been doing mostly western itineraries and haven't been there in four years.

Thanks again for the review and pics. Loved it!

Thanks again for the awesome photos. I may have my ships mixed up, but is Valor the ship with the statue of David in the steakhouse? Just wondering if you remember.

I'm not too sure, we didn't go to the steakhouse... actually come to think of it, I have no idea where the steakhouse even was on the ship?? LOL! Sorry, I'm no help!

Actually we might have seen you at trivia, were you there for the trivia where we rolled the big huge dice?? We remember commenting that the leg cast looked new... I'm sorry about your accident :( Did they put the cast on on the ship?? I don't know if they even offer that kind of treatment... must have been scary! I'm sorry you missed St. Thomas, at least the weather wasn't the best to not 'rub it in' so to speak!

It wasn't at trivia, perhaps in the casino. Did you watch the last slot tournament?

Yes, they put the cast on on the ship. (Not properly according to the orthopedic doctor I went to when I returned home, but it kept it stable so it didn't become displaced and require surgery so I am not complaining.) It was a clean break so as long as it stayed in place all was good.

All is well. Cast removed and after a week and a half I am back to work in a stylish boot. Don't worry. I am sure I will have more opportunities to visit St. Thomas. In addition, I bought trip insurance so most of these cost will be covered. And as they say, it's vacation! Can't beat it. We still had a wonderful time.

I think the steakhouse you are talking about is on the Pride.

Nice job on pics what model type of lens did you use on the pics w/ the mark 5?

Thanks! We used a combination of lenses, but we used the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II the most. We also occasionally used the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, and Canon 35mm f/1.4L.
