10:25 a.m. flight

We will be docking in San Diego at 6:00 a.m. I have read where customs in San Diego is slow. Would we be safe in booking a 10:25 flight out of San Diego or would it better to book the 2:15 p.m. flight?

I personally would book the later flight just to be safe.

What does the cruise line recommend?

Docking at 6 doesn't mean getting off anywhere near 6. Book the later flight.

10:25 AM is too early. Too much risk of missing the flight.

 

I would go with something later.

Good decision. I live an hour north of SD so I don't fly, but on both cruises arriving into SD I would have missed flights any time earlier than noon. On the last cruise, I ran the 2 blocks to Amtrak (I could see the train still sitting at the platform). It was around 11:15 and the train departed a few minutes later. Of course that doesn't work for a flight.

 

The delays are worse when there is more than 1 ship arriving.
