Love.II.Cruise Posted June 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2012 Late last night there was a warning on their website about maintenance and that I may not be able to access everything. That was true and I understand maintenance. Today it is working fine.
YoHoHo Posted June 3, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2012 They have had that 'maintenance notice' up several times recently. The next day. I haven't noticed significant improvement, but hopefully one of these days. It is extremely hit and miss whether a page will load or just timeout; some days/hours good, some days bad. There's another thread here that's been running on this subject but not posted to in the last couple of weeks where the poster was speaking with someone technical and they were apparently working on some equipment changes. It didn't work I suspect. This is not a new problem with their website. If I didn't have a booking and so want to maintain that booking on their website I wouldn't use it for general cruise look ups. It's just too slow and too often pages not displayed. Plus they do maintenance often starting at midnight or so, which is only 9 PM on the West Coast and prime browsing time for me. Sometimes I can tell when they do maintenance because everything will be fine before, say, 9 PM and then slow as molasses after. Ironically, I often use other websites to look up itineraries and pricing for O cruises and do my initial research there. Then if there is something of particular interest, I'll dig deeper on O's website. Until they fix that it is not my first choice.
ohmark Posted June 4, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2012 It is one of the poorest functioning commercial websites I've experienced in recent years. Here is the other extensive thread on the subject of the website. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1606271
